Description

Mainly for gaming and entertainment!

Prices are in CAD

CPU - Was trying to get a 5900x but was not able to because of the chip shortage, settled for the 5800x. Auto OC to 5050mhz

CPU Cooler - Noctua is amazing, 26-30 C on idle, max 71 C on full load. Switched to a 280mm AIO, almost same temps as Noctua.

GPU - Luckily got one on the wait list from memory express. I had no luck with a 3080.

RAM - 32GB overkill for gaming, probably. Four RAM slots filled looks damn good though.

MOBO - Does the job! Was very easy to flash the bios for zen 3 CPU.

SSD - 980 Pro is overkill for what I use it for. But hey I'm utilizing PCIE gen 4.

CASE - Amazing airflow, really easy to work in with lots of room.

MONITOR - Love it, updated the firmware and now have Adobe RGB, Display P3, and sRGB modes.

MOUSE - Very similar to the G PRO wireless except slightly heavier and right handed.

KEYBOARD - 60% keyboard has been very solid so far.

LAPTOP - Samsung Galaxy Pro Book 360 13.3, i5-1135g7, 8gb ram.

TV - Samsung Q80 4K 120HZ QLED.

Part Reviews

CPU

Wanted a 5900x but settled for 5800x. Everyone says it runs hot but mine idles at 27-30 C and at full load is 70 C.

Storage

Overkill, but hey fastest boot drive my PC can utilize .

Case Fan

Great colours and decent airflow for the price, just a tad loud but making a custom fan curve helps.

Monitor

No dead pixels, some glow but to be expected with IPS panel;. Updated firmware so now there is Display P3, sRGB, and Adobe RGB modes.

Mouse

Low latency wireless, ergonomic and fairly light. Love it.

Custom

Sound is everything I want in a headset, good quality mic. Wish it came in a solid grey or black colour and also needed an adapter for headphone jack as it has split wires for mic and audio.

Please tell me, how in the heck your cooling is so great? Is that 1 fan at the top of the case an intake fan?

Are your temps during a Cinebench run, or during gaming? Load temps I mean, not idle.

Speaking of idle, what is the ambient room temp? quite cool?

What are your fan curves like for the 3 front intake fans?

The 1 fan at the top was an exhaust. I've actually replaced the noctua dh-15s with a 280 AIO cooler, surprisingly the noctua did slightly better 1 or 2 degrees cooler than the AIO. CPU temps during Cinebench are 70-72 C, CPU temps during gaming are in 50's or 60's depending on title and resolution. On idle usually 30 C or less. GPU temps during gaming dont typically go above 65 C, on idle sits at 30C or 35C on 0 RPM mode. I dont know the exact ambient room temperature but I imagine its pretty low due to many factors. Fan curve for fans sit at 5-10% idle and 40-50% during load.

I think i credit the p500a for its good airflow and the ambient room temp, also using arctic mx-5 thermal paste.

did you have to update the bios for the cpu? I've been thinking of getting this Mobo for the upcoming amd ryzen 3D V cache

I did, all you need to do is hook up power supply to it. Also install the bios rom file on a usb drive then use the bios flash buttion on the motherboard interface.
