New additions/upgrades below
So, I used to work for Apple as an assistant engineer, and utilized my Macbook Pro for a number of years for everything work, AND personal (photo editing, browsing the web, etc.).
Now, I spend less time working in the field and no longer work for Apple so I figured, hey, why not go back into the PC world. Well, I started off with getting a Dell XPS 15 (9560) and then it just spiraled out of control, but only slightly! So I had the XPS (and still have it, actually) because I was so used to the laptop form factor now, and it had been YEARS since my last PC build, so I it helped me ease back into Windows for personal use, and not just enterprise shtuff. Wow, I didn't think I would pick up on games this quickly...
I wanted to play a little bit of Crysis 3 with that awesome GTX 1050 built into my XPS... then the keyboard was awkward and I definitely needed a mouse. So here comes the mechanical keyboard and my Sabre RGB... then the screen was just too small, so here came the LG 34UM68-P because I figured Ultra-wide in 1080p was perfect for the GTX 1050. Which, it turns out, it was!
But then the wife posed the big question, "why don't you just build a damn computer since you're basically on a battlestation-ish setup with all of this"? Yes, I love her so much : )
Enter, my current battlestation. What was supposed to be budgeted out for me to get all the parts separately, and to be completed by January of 2018, thanks to the help of my LOVING wife, the build was complete within a month!
What started out to be a "budget friendly" build, took a few twists and turns and ultimately, I ended up deciding to future-proof my rig because.... i'm gonna be getting a 3440x1440 to upgrade from this ultra-wide pretty soon. I can't even lie about that.
And here we are, my first personal build in about 10 years! Thanks for stopping in, and more pics will come as I find time between work, baby, and enjoying this beast!
P.S. I searched for my favorite RGB color code and came upon the HEX color, and it turns out the name of my favorite color is "Summer Sky", and now we know! "The more you learn!"
UPDATE 09/18/2017
I've upgraded my display to a 3440x1440 @100Hz because the 2560x1080 @75Hz just wasn't cutting it for my build with my beast of a GPU. I cannot be any happier with this curved UWQHD display, it's not a popular choice compared to the X34 or PG348Q but even without G-Sync, the 100Hz provides more than enough to prevent any tearing during any gaming.
Also, my previous Eagletech keyboard's spacebar switch failed so I had to upgrade, and when I did, I decided to fulfull my needs for a typing-focused setup along with the gaming. So the G.Skill KM570 RGB with MX Cherry Brown switches were MORE than enough to fill that role.
Everything in my setup has been holding up JUST FINE, without any hiccups or hitches. I've overclocked my system to 5GHz from Day 1 and still going strong with NO issues. Keep on building and upgrading, my friends!
UPDATE 01/12/2018
My Corsair H100 V2 pump died on me suddenly. No warnings. No nothing. Thank God for Amazon - ordered my Noctua NH-D15S for same-day delivery and was up and running, slightly COOLER than before! Honestly this is the route I wanted to take initially but I wanted to try an AIO... never again : \ I'll RMA the H100i and see if I can hold onto one for spare parts, but in the meantime, i'm definitely happy with what i'm running now.
UPDATE 01/12/2018
Noctua Cooler and my 2 additional Noctua case fans are thrown in and now the beast looks completely different. I've also decided she needs a new name since I will no longer be using my previous color scheme.
Photos added for latest build (1st and 2nd photos are current).

Part Reviews
CPU
I got lucky and was able to overclock mine to 5GHz with my AIO liquid cooler. It's been running perfectly at that overclock since Day 1.
Motherboard
I have no complaints, other than I wish it had more USB 3.0 ports. This baby accommodated all my needs during my build and I still have an extra RGB header to sync up some more lights later down the road.
Memory
These sticks are flawlessly @3000 MHz since Day 1 of my build. No issues!
Storage
Stupid fast. That's all you need to know.
Storage
My main storage for my games and photo edits, absolutely no complaints.
Video Card
I can run Witcher 3 at ~70 FPS with EVERY detail set to Ultra on my 3440x1440 UWQHD display, so I really can't complain about this beast.
Case
One thing to note, this case is a little shorter than most, so make sure you have room to clear your radiator AND fans up top, because my H100i V2 sure as heck couldn't. So I ended up front-mounting them and moving my case fans up top. Also, the case fans are pretty loud. Other than that, it's AMAZING!
Power Supply
No complaints, fully modular, more than enough cables and matching velcro ties to keep cables managed neatly in my case, and holding steady!
Case Fan
Great fan, doing its job as an exhaust fan at the back of my case, BUT the RGB doesn't work with my setup since I have ASUS ROG STRIX Aura lighting. In fact, it doesn't light up AT ALL unless I get the controller so.... that's pretty lame.
