Description

My initial build stared off with buying a used Cyberpower PC for $350 back in November 2018. After slowly selling off the used parts and upgrading it the system is fairly close to where I want it to be. The only things that I still own from the original PC is the processor, 1tb HD, wireless adapter, and of course the case. The most recent thing that I have acquired is the ASUS RX590 STRIX card. After finally catching it on sale for $249.99 I pulled the trigger. I sold the gpu that came with the prebuilt system which was the MSI Armor RX580 4gb to help pay for the new card. The quality of this card is great and I can understand why they charge such a premium for the STRIX cards. Everything runs buttery smooth and I have nothing to complain about. In the future I'll probably be throwing in a higher wattage 80+ Gold PSU, and a Ryzen 5 2600 when the prices drop after Zen 2.

Part Reviews

CPU

Phenomenal processor that pairs nicely with an RX590. (OC: 3.7ghz)

Thermal Compound

Good paste from my experience!

Motherboard

Wonderful board that has everything I need. Onboard lighting looks great and Aura Sync works well with integrating everything in my PC.

Memory

Works great OC to 3200mhz no problem.

Storage

Does a good job storing games and making faint noises.

Video Card

Beautiful card that performs just as good as it looks. Comes at a premium price but definitely worth the $249 I got it for!!

Case

A pleasure to build in and has plenty of room. Lacks a little on the airflow even with 5 case fans.

Power Supply

Delivers power needed, but fan does make a noise every now and then.

Wireless Network Adapter

Does a great job with Wifi and Bluetooth!

Keyboard

Great budget keyboard. Comfortable and looks great!

Mouse

Found this gem on a clearance rack in Target. Simple and smooth does well in FPS.

Custom

These fans are awesome especially for the money. They sync up with Aura Sync and perform perfectly.

Wow that before has such lazy RGB strips. That is seriously embarrasing for CyberPower.

Yeah I thought the same thing! That was the first thing on my list to move when I got the PC.

These pics are the reason why people shouldn't get prebuilts. You made some great upgrades.

Welcome to the official pc master race! Nice upgrade! Two things. I think u have a 2700x and it says u have a 1400. Also, how is the red 590 performance for $? Just asking because my friend is probably going to use it when he builds his new rig soon.

Nope 1400 is correct I bought the Prism Cooler from someone liquid cooling their 2700x to help dress up my build and provide some decent cooling. I personally love the RX590, but if you're looking for price to performance I would try to catch the Sapphire RX590 on sale or just grab a 8gb RX580!!

Nice, the cooler looks great!

The rx 580 provides amazing value for performance anyway.

True it's hard to beat the 580's price to performance.

Nice build! Is there room for the led strip parallel to the psu shroud? If so, you should consider putting it there, it gives a nice natural glow. +1 for going Ryzen. Good choice overclocking ram-ryzen FEEDS on high speed ram.

Thanks! I'm not sure where exactly you mean when saying parallel with the power supply shroud. I have it ran up the front and top of the case, the strip has built in magnets. I like have the light cast down throughout the case personally. Even this gen1 Ryzen chip has proven it's worth!!

Ahh if you like the light facing down then there’s no point but it would look better than out in the open in the before picture

i love the build but that case just kills it

I really like the P400 I'm probably going to remove all of the CyberPower branding from it. I kind of liked it on there at first to "keep its roots" but I'm thinking its time to take it off now.
