Description

Update: Just changed case, psu, NVMe SSD... a lot changed since I started. Had to take the HDD cage out from the case, it was not really easy. Later I'm going to update the text about the components below. Right now, just new pictures and new parts list.

Update 2: Switched PSU's "ECO MODE" to on... This particular PSU make a lot of noise if "Eco Mode" is off...

Update 3: There's like 80mm of cleareance from the GPU to the Kraken rad (sitting on front). You could put a 360mm GPU and still have 4 or 5mm of cleareance.

Update 4: Just upgraded the 2080 Super (white) for a Aorus 2080 Ti (black), also added a difuse LED stripe on the "PSU bay area".

Summary - Outdated

Seems like putting a 280mm rad on H510 is not an easy task. I'm going to fill the description later, my back is killing me...

This built started as something completely different but I decided to go for a white themed build when I found my self not satisfied with the looks of my XPG Battlecruiser (too much glass for my taste)

About the components choices - Outdated

  • CPU - Intel 10600K I started with a Ryzen 3600 and was pretty much satisfied with its performance, but when I setted with a white theme build I couldn't find any motherboard that would fit the look I wanted. My first option was the NZXT N7 Z390 white, but I can't find it avaliable at my country (Brasil), and I don't want to wait the shipping from an eBay USA seller. The NZXT Z490 white would be a nice option (I would prefer a N7 X570 but it doesn't exist...) but it's not in the market yet. Then I found the Z490 Vision G that give me the looks I wanted. Seems like the Z490 will support Intel 11th Gen cpus, prob' I'm going to jump to a Intel 11700K when it comes out.

  • Mobo - Gigabyte Z490 Vision G The Z490 Vision G surely is an inferior option whem compared to the X570 Asus Crosshair VIII. The biggest lost was PCIe 4.0, and I do have a Gen 4 M.2 SSD in this build, but in real world usage (being mainly gaming) I see no performance difference. Games load as fast as always, and being frank Windows 10 Pro seems a bit faster in the new 10600K then it was on my Ryzen 3600, but it maybe a placebo effect from the fresh windows install. If the N7 Z490 ever see the light of the day, I'm going to be really tempted to go for it.

  • CPU Cooling - NZXT Z63 I've being thru the Aerocool P7 and the Corsair H100i V2, both are truly unique looking AIOs and superb cooling performers. Both had almost identical performance but when I first heard about the Z63 I had to go for it. I was going to bring it from USA when it just become avaliable here in Brasil, almost for twice the normal price... Still I bit the bullet and got it. Was also considering the Asus Ryou 240mm (also got an screen on the pump), even paid for it and it's going to my suite in Shopfans, but I'm going to try to return it or if not possible I'm going to send it over for me here in Brasil and sell it.

  • Memory - Crucial Ballistix Sport, 2x16GB DDR4 3000MHz CL15 It's totaly overkill for a Full HD gaming PC, but it was with a nice price and I like it's looks. Then I've heard about TT Toughram RGB white, now I'm trying to bring some so I can complete my build's look.

  • GPU - Gigabyte RTX 2080 Super OC White Edition 2020-08-31 - It just arrived... Now my build is closer to completion, and it's looking pretty sleek, I'm really happy with it. The PowerColor RX 5700 Red Devil is already going to it's buyer.

  • Storage - XPG Gammix S50 M.2 NVMe Gen 4 SSD 1TB When I got this M.2 SSD it's was priced in the right spot, just before Covid19 started to mess with the global economy making every imported good more expensive down here in Brazil. Also, as it's Gen 4 I really believe that thing is future proof for some years to come.

  • PSU - XPG Core Reactor 850w Full Modular Well, if it was white that would be a lot better... Still you barely can see it in the NZXT H510 case. The solution I found for the cables was to simply get a sleeved cable kit to make the cable tips white, that's going to work for me. This particular PSU have really good features (take a look at a review), and down here in my country it was in the same price range as other well known good quality Full Modular PSUs, so I couldn't ask for much more. Today I would choose an RM850x white, but I can't find avaliable and as it's a heavy component getting it from another country would cost an arm and a leg... Perhaps if some good full modular white PSU becomes avaliable down here I play with the idea of getting it and selling the XPG Core off.

  • Case - Well that's the cornerstone of the build, it's reason to be. It's the one thing that started it all and made me buy an full new platform (mobo, CPU) and is making me look for the not-avaliable-in-my-country TT Toughtram RGB White... I think I can hear this case talk sometimes, "Upgrade Me". You know, this case is evil. Ok, enough humor, my back is killing me...

  • Case FANs - Changed both NZXT FANs for Noctuas.

  • Radiator FANs - Also changed for Noctuas.

  • RGB LED Strip - Deepcool 200 RGB PRO - As Noctua fan's don't have any sort of RGB, I wanted to put a LED strip to light things up.

More details... - Outdated

  • The ATX 24 pin motherboard cable is using a Cooler Master 90º adapter. Prob I'm going to take it out because I'm getting sleeved white cables. I was tinkering with the idea of changing the PSU for a white one, but at the moment there's no white PSU avaliable in my country (Brasil) that would be better than my actual PSU.
  • 2020-08-28 - I just installed Noctua LNA (low noise adapters) that I got with a friend of mine to keep the radiator 140mm fans at 900RPM. The are not PWM and was making more noise then I could stand running at 1200RPM. Now they are barely audible.
  • 2020-08-31 - RTX 2080 Super White arrived, instaled.

Do you mean the radiator for the CPU cooler? You can detach the metal piece in the front of that case to attach the fans and then reattach them easier that way.

Yeah, I did it, still it was not easy to put it back, I think the front pannel cables was on the way... somehow.

How are the thermals?

Idle: - 10600k@stock - 32ºC (close to ambient) - RX 5700 Power Color Red Devil @stock (switched to "OC Mode", it got a switch on it... ) - 43ºC

Load: Going to measure it.

Oh, I have the 240mm kraken and the s340 elite. Installing it was a piece of cake Never build in the new NZXT towers. It looks nice though!

Well, I didn't notice it was the front pannel cables that was getting somehow in the way. Still it was pretty easy. My main problem is that I got 2 little kids so time is a luxury for me.

Beautiful build 😊

How did you install your AIO? Did you put the case fans on the outside of the bracket and the radiator on the inside?

Also how much gpu clearance do you have with that setup?

Hey there, thank you!

Installed it as you said, 2x 140mm Noctuas on the outside and the radiator inside. I'm going to measure the gpu clearance later and I'll inform you on this.

Ok! Awesome! Thank you that would be much appreciated. I have the same case as you and I'm looking at getting the same water cooler. Are you using the front mounted fans as the intake and the rear and top fans as exhaust??

Too late... Changed the case... Sorry.

Bad thermals?

No, It was good, but Lancool 2 Mesh is even better.

With your new Lancool 2 Mesh case, What's the max GPU length you could fit? If you can't figure out that, maybe just provide how much clearance you have left, and I can look up length of your card to get total. Trying to figure out which 3080 to get in the future. Will be using Z73 cooler front mount, so same thickness as Z63.

I've checked with a ruler, my gpu got 285mm, with the Kraken Z63 rad siting on front using 22m, I still have at maximum 80mm of cleareance, so I think a 360mm GPU would be the maximum you could go with the Kraken rad on front, you still would have 4 or 5 mm of cleareance between the GPU and the Kraken rad.

Thank you! It's going to get even better. (RTX 2080 white, white sleeved cables, TT Toughram RGB White... stay tuned!)
