what a name, lol
in the future i plan to get an overclockable i7 cpu for better rendering times :)
these guides are super helpful, thanks a ton :D
we're reusing the HDD and PSU, wont be using ODD, and he doesnt like his current case and he likes my current one so thats why im getting the p400
and yes im hoping to cut cost as much as possible, but am willing to spend up to a grand
youre gonna love it when its done :D
:D thanks man!
yeah it was the oem
thanks for the help :D
my cpu didnt come with a cooler unfortunately so i got the 212
thanks for your answer. my mobo is z170. do i have to setup some kind of xmp profile or do any configurations, or is this process automatic?
I figured it wasn't much of a difference since i5 doesn't have hyperthreading, so both the 6100 and an i5 would have 4 logical cores. Idk much about processors so correct me if im wrong on that.
the only thing that actually bothers me about any of this is the camerawork
the spare parts from the first build would be made into a build for one of my housemates as a gift.
because most processors already come with a fan and will be enough, you only buy a new fan when you are going to be overclocking your processor and need a better fan than the one it came with
that would put you 60 euros over your budget
You don't need to buy a fan for your processor.
a CPU fan isn't necessary with a non overclockable CPU. But with the budget you have, this build is probably as good as things are going to get
youve basically already picked out the parts
its hard to know how to rate or improve it without context
You make a good point. I don't really know if those flaws matter to me, and it's rare for me to find a case I like the look of. I think I'll go with the spec alpha at first to save money, and if it turns out to be trash I'll upgrade to a 760 or 780.
I have the same ones :)
Why didn't he like the case? I usually hate cases that try to be stylish, I enjoy minimalist cases, but this one supposably has good cable management, comes with 3 fans, and is $80. I was also thinking about the 760t.
I forgot to mention I already have a 1tb HDD too
This would be in a studio. My plan was to make a build that has good airflow and would probably be loud under load, but that can be made to be silent during recording sessions. I made this build as a draft, the PSU has an eco switch, there's a fan controller, and I plan to get a be quiet! CPU fan later on. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/rT8dCy
Yeah, that would be preferable.
I don't actually have a budget, if it's worth the price I'll get it, I just wanted to keep the price arouund $1400 so I could buy all the parts in 3 checks
a 1080 wont add "smoothness" unless your monitor is more than 60hz
you can get better connectivity and transfer speeds if you use a wireless adapter that supports 802.11ac. An i5-6400 would have better performance than an fx-8350, I think. Wait for someone else's input as far as the CPU.
its overkill for playing mmorpgs
CPU coolers aren't necessary if the CPU isn't overclockable.
You should get a more power efficient PSU as well.
what specifically will the PC be for?
It looks like overkill bu I'm guessing that's the point. Looks good to me
You should get more storage, I don't see why an overclockable CPU is necessary, and you should get a more efficient PSU.
thanks for your help
it is for DAW work and photoshop.
960 is generally the bare minimum you need to run new games. so if you were to get that, you'd probably be able to play nearly all games out right now though not on the highest settings. All depends on how much time you spend playing games and what you can afford. In my opinion, a 970 is worth the extra $100.
good build, the cooler is unnecessary tho
Sorry for that haha
I tried the game on full ultra and on minimal settings, tweaking the .ini to fully disable shadows and it had no difference in performance, in the end who knows what the problem was
I got the i7 for photoshop and DAW work
that CPU cooler is absolute overkill for a non overclockable CPU
is this a joke
coolshark, cigarettes after sex, my morning jacket, no vacation, weezer
how's that chair treating you? and where can I get one?
Most definitely. This is what I've got planned for the next go around: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/xdTQzM
I actually don't remember what GPU I got aside from the fact it was an EVGA 960, so it's possible it was the 4gb model. Nice profile picture btw
yes, because its your part list. use the permalink
i dont have words for how cool this is
whoops, my mistake
