Nice build! Is there space for intake fans under the GPU?
It would be a great setup if your desk wasn't so cluttered - some needed spring cleaning is in order there!
2200G sells for about $140AUD which converts to $106USD
2400G sells for $230AUD which is about $174USD
AM4 mitx ASrock mobo $165AUD which is $125USD
Not sure how different that is from the US market but I know some European countries and New Zealand have it far worse than us down here. Minute silence for our wounded brothers
Thanks for checking this out! Highly recommend the case, build quality is exceptional!
The TDP for the 2400G is 65watts, so without any crazy high overclocks and a couple of SSDs or HDD, it’ll handle it just fine! I’m planning to upgrade to the Ryden APUs in the future too in a few generations
Read the description mate, all is answered. Parts were purchased back in 2014 - well before Kaby-Lake was released. Just moved them to a new case. And no, the Australian market is no different to the rest of the world (besides being slightly more expensive than the US market). We’re not that isolated.
What resolution is that monitor?
Saw the turn table and instantly smashed that up vote button! Very impressive, well done!
Is that a fire extinguisher on the floor there? Props to being prepared!
Have you connected power to the gpu? USB may need drivers - especially if you're plugging into USB 3 ports
Wow... just wow! This is perfect!
Yep your results seem bang on - check official 1050ti results here:
No it doesn't, and it also doesn't come with a cooler so you'll have to buy one.
However, most decent coolers come with a tube of thermal paste so you may not need to buy any
I think a GTX 1080 with that CPU will not be the best paring. DDR 4 is really expensive at the moment too.
If cost is not an issue then yeah, build an entirely new PC - and if just for gaming then go for intel and maybe wait for the i7-8700k as you get two extra cores (about 25% more performance).
Otherwise, keep your components and grab an SSD and GPU, and then look at upgrading the CPU/Mobo later once DDR 4 prices have dropped (hopefully). The only thing holding you back is the GTX 760 at the moment, but your CPU will struggle to keep up with a powerful GPU anyways. I'm not too sure but I think even the GTX 1060 may get slightly bottlenecked by the FX8320
My understanding is that the bags are slightly conductive to produce the anti static properties of the interior of the bag. Therefore there could be a chance of a static build up on the outside of bag. The motherboard box is a much better alternative platform for inserting components
You really shouldn't place the motherboard on the outside of an anti-static bag
And definitely flip those case fans - they are working against the GPU fan
Well maybe not, i think it works fine.
maybe they're looking at doing a 10xx - 20xx - 30xx etc type number system. Kinda seems reasonable to me?
Can I be your girl friend too?
Loving the Dan Ricciardo reference!
Oh man, I thought I was the only person to use the full screen start menu in Windows 10!
Parts list please
With that much water cooling in mind, you may need to look at the Fractal Design Nano S. Not the smallest, But by far the most versatile
Obviously you have some corrupted system files. Just do a fresh install of windows - download the free windows media creation tool.
This build will piss all over a used iMac man
Probably the cooler master elite 110. Simple aesthetics, great parts compatibility (full size atx psu) and actually pretty good thermals!
1060 3gb is much better than the 1050ti.Vram isn't everything, and at the level of the 1050ti some will even say that 4gb isn't needed. Go for the 1060 3gb for 1080p gaming or maybe even a radeon 570 if you can get one at a good price. The 570 sits in-between the 1050ti and 1060.
Is it just me, or are your front fans set up as exhaust and all the rest set up as intake? Don't your front fan positions have intake filters?
Sweet man, what's better than a free GTX 950?...
...Two free GTX 950s
Depends what you want man. Pure performance go for the 980ti. But if you're planning to only run at 1080p, then go for the 1060 and have a newer more efficient card
I too also remember a time before ******* cryptocurrency mining was a thing
Try disabling your network adapter
Check your event log - under system there should be an entry at the time when the system wakes up - may be some info as to why?
Open up cmd prompt and type:
powercfg -devicequery wake_armed
This will give you a list of devices that are able to wake up the pc from sleep.
You can then go into device manager and disable any of the listed devices from waking up your pc
Can't mistake that skyline! ****, we really are neighbours!! I'm in West Perth
Is that Perth on your desktop background??
If it is, Hi there fellow neighbour!
Build is beyond words man, fantastic job!
Yeah you could try an adapter - but they are problematic and dont give the best quality picture. Also they may not even work. But worth a try if you can find a cheap one... or if you can, plug your build into your TV via HDMI and see if you get a POST screen.
But a new monitor will really allow you to enjoy that 1060! No good having a powerful GPU if you cant see all those gloriously rendered frames
This should be submitted to the 'Create a parts list for me' forum as it is not troubleshooting
Not a problem with your motherboard at all. That ryzen CPU doesn't have integrated graphics so you can't plug in a display to your motherboard. Also plugging in speakers to the motherboard won't work as you need a motherboard speaker that plugs into a header on the motherboard not in the audio jack.
You will need to buy an VGA-HDMI/DP adapter .... But even then, adapters can be hit and miss and are not recommended
What monitor do you have - if it only has VGA then it must be a really old monitor - perhaps an upgrade so you can enjoy that powerful 1060 in all its glory!
Stellaris. It even has a released sound track album
If you're new to pc's, stay away from over clocking. There really isn't a need for it and not worth the risk. You should get comfortable with running stock and only attempt tinkering with overclocking after you do your research. You could have really done damage if you overclocked without a properly attached cooler.
Seems like something is wrong with your AIO cooler. Check fans, check pump operating and check fittings to cpu socket
I'm sure Vega will be a great product - but doubtful it will trump the 1080ti. All AMD can do is come in at a good price and beat the 1080ti with a price per performance. But then all Nvidia will do is lower the RRP on all 10series cards to compete (great for the consumer). Then NVidia will know the capabilities of Vega and release Volta accordingly
Just watched this!
if only real life was like this!.... sigh
Thanks man, yeah I think I'm going to make more of an effort to give the game the attention it deserves. I just wish it could fill that hole that the original trilogy left behind. I know everyone seems to be putting ME1-3 up on a pedestal, yes it wasn't perfect, but like a classic exotic Italian sports car, its imperfections are what make the game so special. ME-A feels like its imperfections are kinda more of a deal breaker this time around - maybe we as gamers are now expecting too much?
Awesome man, loving the 80s vibe - reminds me of GTA Vice City!!! Great photos too btw!
Yeah not too far at all really - I know I haven't given it the time it deserves yet and am probably judging it too soon, but I just don't seem to be motivated enough to really care about the story too much - i was expecting to be blown away by Andromeda, I mean, its another bloody Galaxy after all!!! But It just feels its the kinda the same... Kinda like an average sequel to a really good movie that didn't need to be made.
And Sara, I kinda don't really care about her or her story - with Shepard I instantly found a connection with and NEEDED to know everything about her (I played a Female Shepard - so much better IMO). With Sara, I find myself skipping more dialogue than I probably should.
Don't get me wrong, its a game worth playing, it just missed the mark on what should have been an exceptional game. Mass Effect 1-3 was and still is one of the all time greatest gaming experiences you can have on PC. Andromeda just doesn't meet that level, and I'm probably more likely to replay Mass Effect 1-3 than I am more likely to 100% ME-A
All I know is that I was hooked and couldn't get enough of Mass Effect 1-3, the story, game play and characters were just all on point.
Mass Effect Andromeda however.... Just hasn't captured me yet... I find myself playing for 30min, then getting bored, and then loading up Doom to slay some demons in some glorious silky gameplay. ME-A drops the mark on story, characters and game play. Also it's atmosphere is lacking too (music, look and feel)... Yeah its just a bit meh?
Probably not a good idea - the motherboard should only touch the case through the standoffs as the mounting screw holes are grounded. The stand offs should have come with the case. Do what others have said and verify that all your parts work by assembling the build outside of the case. The motherboard box is perfect for this
Not if the back of the board is directly touching the case... Also don't go moving the case at all. You really should secure the motherboard
Yeah you need to make sure your motherboard is sitting on some standoffs and not being screwed directly onto the case. The standoffs may have been pre-installed into your case, but usually they come in loose with the case screw bag. Your motherboard needs to be raised off the case so nothing is shorting
