hehehe good one. thanks dude
Thanks yeah It does although still tough to get a locked 120fps on my Alienware . Currently rocking battlefield 1 at mid/high settings to get a locked 120fps in multiplayer maps.
Thanks it’s tough to get some good pictures in UV / black light with an iPhone. Those silver fittings look bright blue under UV and look amazing but that’s tough to capture . My phone may need an upgrade also lol
Thank you! Yeah such awesome series
makes it for an awesome cpu for a file server. I can stream plex stuff from it no prob.
yeah It should be fine. mine never moves really plus my 3 yo daughter punched my case the front window a few times and … well it still works lmao.
in my case, the hardline cooling also provides some support and keeps the card from moving. It basically "locks it in place" between the fittings and the pump kit right next to it. without that I am not sure I would have been comfortable leaving the card hanging like that. So if youre going for a hardline loop then I wouldn't worry. if not then I would probably think about using something else or just be extra careful moving the case around.
need to leave that last slot blank. you could in theory but what I had a hard time with is being able to use the PCIE screws to secure the card because you wont have enough clearance for a screwdriver or anything. if you can figure that out somehow than you can use that last slot and bump the card higher up otherwise no.
yup I agree that the Hero would look worse if you don't do a vertical riser card and no monoblock on the board. Otherwise the gfx will cover half the board when placed vertically and the monoblock will replace the board heatsinks and will look much nicer : hero+riser+monoblock = better looking than maximus formula/code and may be about the same price.
jesus christ this looks good. thanks for posting
home depot black marker lol
cool looking build. cant go wrong with red and black. For multiple bends use a marker and mark the tube a few mm away from the second bend . It will make things a lot easier. Love EK stuff +1
Gaming on a core i9 wow alright interesting choice :). Where’s your drain valve ? And any reason why you have like 5+ fittings on that second cpu connection? Looks like a straightforward connection to me I dunno I might be wrong though
Also you’re not listing your watercooling components (fluid blocks etc probably the most important aspect if you want feedback
Like a boss!
Very Nice congratz on feature +1.
hehe how do I stay focus? I don't I'm pretty much losing every time im playing games lol. I do turn off the color blue on the fans but I still stare at it lol. Luckily for me during day time the UV effect fades out and I can actually focus on the screen. 1st world problems man lol
hehe my 6yo says thank you! :)
Thank you so much!
All 1080 TIs are overclockable because the chip allows for that to happen....like the K sku intel processors. The question is what cooling solution is on them because Pascal reacts singnificantly to temperatures. ITs not so much how high they can boost, but how consistent they keep that boost clock. A reference 1080 TI watercooled will most likely sustain higher clocks than a custom card air cooled even if the custom air cooled card has stronger hardware and can boost higher initially.
So I would say 1) if you want high frame rates at 1440p i would go for a 1080 TI. and 2) get a 1080 ti that either has a beefed up air cooler on it or has the ability to be water cooled in the future should u choose to go that route. (or simply get one of those hybrid ones which in my opinion provide great value and much better temps than air cooled cards).
Also I think you had a question about blower style cards on release day. So from my experience, on release day, we will get non reference coolers on reference cards, so for example EVGA SC or SSC or some of the gaming cards from other brands. The ones delayed are the ones with a custom PCB like... EVGA FTW, kingpin , hybrid FTW and the like or Gigabyte Aorus extreme etc. I bought a gtx 1070 SC (the one with 2 fans) maybe 2 or 3 days after release day from newegg so they will likely be available if you dont want a blower style card.
yeah Im running a (refurbished mind you) corsair h100i v2 in my media center PC which used to run 24/7 (no longer the case) with no issues cooling a not so powerful i3. So sure i recommend them based on my limited experience but not sure about their new ones like the Pro versions. I always thought based on my research that the older v2 is a great AIO and well regarded though. EVGA is also a solid performer and uses a newer asetek design so I wouldn't change it but that's just me.
ooooh shiny I love it . it looks so much better than my crappy stock IHS lol. Thank you
as a corsair fanboy I call that AIO a blasphemy in a corsair case lol. Its all good its looks bada$$ love it +1
its like the night at the museum with my build(maybe that should have been the name). During day time its just chillin mostly dark colored (forest green fluid on mostly black with some orange accents) nothing that stands out. But at nighttime this thing comes to life with those UV strips lighting up everything. Thanks man
Very nice build +1. I always struggled to fit the color scheme of those noctua fans but you did a fantastic job. Wait your 8700k has a copper IHS and u did not post a pic of it ? cmon dude :) I would have loved to see it buts all good
wwoooww what a beauty. And I thought my build will stay featured for a little longer sounds like you should be up next! Beatiful build man something about black and yellow that really does it for me. I love it +1
Thanks for the love!
Which one ? The New Corsair vengeance pros? Those were my next ones up but I felt bad letting go of a good kit of ddr4 3600 Samsung b die too :) I’ve had this kit for awhile
Hehe thanks yeah I ran into some issues with my old Mainboard and sent it in for an RMA. So instead of waiting for the replacement( like normal people do ) I decided what the heck get a mono block get the Asus hero because I’ve always liked that board get a ton of ek fittings from performance PCs and well upgrade time lol.
Thank you !
Agreed and thanks. This is a fantastic case. The fact that i dropped 100 bucks on preorder for it is just mind blowing to me. i paid twice as much for much less in the past. ITs rare to see an enclosure that is both pretty and very much performance oriented.
WOW FEATURE: THANK YOU PCPP!!!!!!
Thank you Sir! It did take awhile thats for sure. :)
wow your zombie hunter build is out of this world. I just looked at it . ITs freaking fantastic. And 19 builds keep them coming. Glad im not alone with an upgrade addiction lol
Thank you sir!!!
any particular reason why u chose the code and not the hero ? I feel like the Code is in a hard spot between the formula for those looking to cool the VRMs or the HERO for those who do need the mosfet blocks unless theres some other feature that i am missing. thanks
Thank you sir ! CableMod RGB UV strips but only the UV portion is hooked up (power pin and uv pin).
Thank you sir! I used the Lian Li vertical kit that is specific to the 011 dynamic enclosure. I bought it from newegg for like 60 or something. You may be able to get away with a different kit because if you replicate my setup, I am not using the base platform so im only using the cable and the back piece to affix the card to the case.
thanks. its not so much RGB as its the UV lighting that makes everything pop. the green leds on the mainboard and the fans are actually dimmed lol , they were waay too bright but they still pop like crazy at night time because of the UV reactive components. its funny it looks so dull during day time (like your average green/black build) and so bright at night time lol. I love UV components
thx btw i did not paint the rads. Primochill sells all kinds of colors. But hey ill take the compliment lol . I did paint the panels but the rads nah I would not have done as good of a job as Primochill did :).
lmao I love doing this way too much ! I know i have a problem
hehe Thanks man!! Too many white builds on this website. So here I am to break that pattern :))
I bought the lian li vertical gpu kit. Its a complete kit so it has everything to mount it upwards. Cablemod makes a similar one that works with other cases.
Thanks man what do you think ? Looks better with the 45 deg angle right? it’s still not quite perfect but you need the right angle to notice it I think but it’s gonna take a lot of wasted tubes to get perfection I think. Christmas break here I come lol
