Got a lot of flack for high failure rates. Same with WD Caviar Blues so kinda scratching my head with that one. I'd be happy with either, but this was the first 1TB 7200RPM I saw, so I bought it. No regrets. Really fast and quiet. It did grind for a couple days after 2-3months usage, but that went away and performance never degraded.

Not the fastest out there but great inexpensive storage option nonetheless. Great bang for your buck HDD!

Chose this for budget reasons + needed somewhere to store music etc for the PC. Was a good choice and have no complaints.

For just a plain hard drive, it is pretty fast, great transfer speeds.

Every computer I have ever had a hand in putting together has had a Seagate drive. They are the originators of the 7200RPM drive, and there always seems to be one “on sale” somewhere.
