I had to replace the motherboard on my new build so that means I had to take the liquid cooler and cpu out of the old and reinstall on the new. I choose to clean all the original pasts off and use this as I ordered it not knowing if I needed it or not. I used the credit card method to smear and thin layer on the cpu once installed. I then used isopropyl alcohol and a qtip to clean the paste from the edge of the cpu so as to not have any ooze out over the edge after installing and clamping down the cooling head. It seems to be a good product, I will compare the temps I had with original paste and this and see if there is any difference.
