May be a minor upgrade from the 1600x or 2600 or even 1600 I really love this processor and get great performance out of it.

Tears up the BOINC applications and works like a charm in games.

Great CPU, automatically clocked to 4.07Ghz on my computer. Absolutely amazing. Easy to install, and games very well!

It runs really hot out the box. get a Ryzen 5 2600 if you do not want to upgrade the cooler. you will not see any meaningful performance gains vs the 2600x. Just higher temps without a AIO cooler or a custom loop. Maybe a high performance air cooler. The 2600x has a TDP of 95 the 2600 is rated at 65.

The cpu itself is absolutely lovely. But, the cpu cooler (Wraith Spire) was extremely hard to put on, and I had a worrying amount of squeaking when tightening down the screws. Turned out fine in the end as temps remain around 50 Celsius idle.

Coming from an i7-4770K I am very pleased with this processor so far! Instead of getting the Ryzen 7 2700X I saved and invested in a GTX 1070 Ti. Handles gaming loads very well.

Running really cool with my 240mm AIO Liquid Cooler (https://pcpartpicker.com/product/TvfmP6/thermaltake-cpu-cooler-clw107pl12swa)

Really waited a long time to buy a CPU/Mobo. They were the last parts to buy, but the 2600x is really the best balance between value and performance for me. I bought it to futureproof a bit, even though I know that's a little bit of a fool's errand.

It is a fantastic processor to play and stream as well as videos highly recommended, the only problem is your stock cooler so it is necessary to change it.
