After hearing some bad things about Corsair products, I made a last-minute switch from the H80i to the X41 - and I couldn't be happier. Overall, this is a stunningly polished cooler; the performance and aesthetics that it added to my build make it well worth the pricetag.
I originally wanted one of the Fractal Design Kelvin coolers, but they weren't released when I was buying my parts. So instead I went with the NZXT Kraken. I was looking for a solid 140mm cooler and this one ended up fitting the bill. Besides matching the case, this one came with variable pump speed and a cool LED (bonus!). It has been working fantastic, keeping my i7 nice and cool. This cooler was well worth the money.
Very easy install, keeps my cpu really cool and is very quite, CAM software is also very easy to use.
Great AIO cooler. Fits pretty well in Xigmatek Aquila (in certain places/directions).
Software works fine. If Specs could be modified to be at a certain distance in games, this would be perfect.
So far so good the temps seem a little better now.
Upgraded from a Noctua NH-L9i 57.5 CFM CPU Cooler, wasn't meant for the i7-4790K.
Had to install it at the top of the Rosewill BLACKHAWK-ULTRA ATX Full Tower, would not fit in the back.
Once I figured it out it was easy to install.
Great piece of kit. If the mobo supports it, attach the pump to the W_PUMP header, and the refrigeration unit fan to the CPU_FAN header rather than to the extension plug on the pump power lead.
Would be five stars, the only issue is the standoff mounting system is literally murder on your fingers.
This AIO cooler is very good at it's job! My Intel Skylake i7 6700k @ 4.2GHz idles at at 18C and under load is around 46C-48C.
Easy to install and setup, works in many configurations. Currently have it setup in a push/pull configuration and it runs in near silence.
It matched my case and it got great reviews. Plus the customizable LED is cool. I cleaned off the OE thermal grease on the Kraken and used Arctic Silver 5 directly on the CPU surface. Easy to install, although I was confused about the power and fan headers. The IKEA like instruction manual was vague, so I had to look up a youtube video to figure out what headers to use. Apparently the 3-pin plug goes into the CPU_FAN header, the waterblock fans go into the CPU_OPT header, and there is a USB plug (which doesn't have all the pins, on purpose) which plugs into an available USB_2 header on the MOBO. NZXT warns to install the CAM+ software BEFORE plugging in the USB header. I followed that advice and had no problems. The CAM+ software is cool but it requires you to submit/register with NZXT. The radiator and fan are quiet and keeps my i7 in the low 20's.
minus one star because I spent a bunch of time trying to decipher all the wires, the installation instructions could have been clearer. Plus the CAM software required internet connectivity
I received and installed the NZXT Kraken X41 today. This cooler is AMAZING. So far, I have not even gotten the CPU to touch 40°. I ran blend tests for 7 hours while I slept last night and HW monitor reported max CPU temp as 35°C @ 3.8GHz! Not to mention that this setup is nearly silent. I was quickly growing tired of the OEM CPU cooler sounding like a plane taking off anytime load was applied to the CPU.
Will update with more info later and update IF a failure ever arises.
