Looking to upgrade my odd PC

So basically, I put a GTX 1080 in my budget 1050 Ti gaming PC and now have a bottleneck on my hands, and about $350-$450 to fix it. I'm thinking monitor, and waiting on zen 2 for the CPU upgrade. Any suggestions?

Whats with the PSU? never seen it before. And also, if I wanted to go 4k 60 instead of 1440p 144, would the CPU still be a bottleneck? I have never actually seen 144 FPS with my own eyes while gaming, and I don't know if it's really worth it.

  • The new PSU is to facilitate further upgrades (as 450W might be cutting it close, especially with the new CPU and GPU). Mainly went for the Whisper M as it was the best unit at a low price (considering that the equivalent EVGA and Season were pricier)

  • As you get higher and higher in resolution, you get to a point where the GPU is more dominant than the CPU. The 1500X (or it's Zen2 equivalent) will be more than enough to back up your GPU.
