Description

All right, I'm not a fan of writing long paragraph because I still don't know English completely (I'm a French Canadian), but I'll try to provide extra clarification.

First, the 290X. I bought this card back in 2014 used from I guys who was selling it for $215CAD on Kijiji, I jumped on that deal and I'm still rocking it. I'm waiting for AMD to release is next flagship (Big Vega) to replace my old card who served me so well for all those years. I'm not going to Nvidia because I already have a GTX 1060 for my GF's build and I'm not a fan of their driver. I have less problem (and crash) with AMD driver.

Second, I did the watercooling mostly for myself, not for the performance. I'm a guy who loves doing stuff like that and I did it mostly for the look. If I wanted to have performance/price I would Have bought a NZXT kraken with a G10 and another Kraken for the CPU. but yeah, god gave me the ability to like fancy stuff. kind of suck for special power xD.

The razor mouse pad is great, but too big for me and very ugly. I should not have included it in the picture.

Also, I'm waiting for Zen, maybe i'll switch my 6700k depending on how it can clock (and the IPC). I want to do an all AMD build because my fancy *** wants an 8 core/16 thread.

Also, Couple of people asked me why I choose the Mad Catz instead of other product. I tried a lot of great mouse (https://goo.gl/photos/WEDERhCbB5ZKgm9W7), but the Mad Catz was the most confortable for me (yeah, the color choice of mad catz is ******). The G502 is a very narrow mouse (I have medium hands), and the razor feels like a $30 mouse (great mouse design, but ****** material and quality). I also tried a Steelseries Rival 300 but it didn't feel right.

If you have any question about anything, just ask for it :)

I find this build extremely appealing. Very sterile and well put together.

Absolutely Stunning! Both ur setup and pc, the mouse-pad kinda kills the whole blue, white, red, theme. Other than that its amazing. -What happened to the side panel?

I'm looking for another mouse pad, this one is too big for me haha. I dont really need the Side panel and I find it more beautiful this way.

Bigger summary would be nice. I do like the color pallet that you've got going. However I'm curious why you went with a R9 290X considering how many other great choices there are. Also that Mad Catz R.A.T. mouse is not one I've seen for awhile. Any overclocking with this build or did we just do water-cooling for looks? I am impressed with the setup and the clean look. +1 (for now).

r9 290x to go with the freesync monitor obviously, it easily outperforms Rx 480 and is essentially the same card as r9 390x, no point getting the fury series as they are not good performance per dollar especially with vega coming out soon. I personally still use a r9 290 vapor-x OCd, and I can maintain 60fps in 1440p easily in AAA titles.

I'm from Canada. Fury is $400 with taxes. I paid $200CAD for my 290x in 2014. (hell of a deal)

I paid $200CAD in 2014 for the 290X. no point to upgrade until vega. I love freesync and I don't plan buying Nvidia.

Fair enough. I was a huge fan of freesync too but I converted when the 1070 came out.

I'm waiting for Vega to change my old 290X. I have four mouse (Razer Mamba, Logitech G502, Razer Mamba 2012, Steelseries Rival 300) and the Mad Catz is definively my favorite by far. (logitech is too narrow and the razor is feeling like a $30 mouse)

nothing serious for the overclock. 4.6Ghz with 1.42Vcore (crashing at 1.40v), ****** chip. and my 290X is at 1200/1475

Ah nice overclock going there. I just had a Mad Catz M. but I ended up get a Logitech G303 and I love it. Most of my fps games I play with an xbox one controller other than Squad because I'm use to the keyboard and mouse set up and rather not switch it up now. Vega is something I am curious about and I'll end up making another small AMD build in the near future for a friend but we'll see.

for me its Usually adventure/rpg game with the controller and FPS with the mouse.

Ah yeah I guess it depends on the game but I'm mostly jumping between FPS, RTS, or Survival games. On FPS it's controller for the most part and everything else is mouse. What controller do you use?

You can see it in the picture :) a white Xbox One controller.

The details, er mer gerd. The setup alone is great to look at, but when you actually look at what's in the case. Jeez!

You got 2 rad there, why not 1 for CPU and 1 for GPU? All in all, very stunning af! and your PSU, it could last forever

And did you cut the entirely side panel of H440?

  • 1 point

Nah. Side panel is almost useless at this point. I'm waiting for a H440 elite or a white case with tempered glass

this is beautiful i am SO in love, also extra internet points for putting two 360 rads in the h440 barely anyone does that and still manages to fit all full size fans +1 fantastic job

Thank you :D

The radiators are extra slim (27mm i think). Everything is super tight. The tube near the 140mm fan is touching the top of the fan the 90 degrees fitting on the reservoir is also touching the bottom fan haha. everything is so tight and I need custom cable because the side panel is super hard to put.

Great Build but, UH........................................................................................... You kinda spent $205 on the mouse alone that pretty high for a mouse. Like almost could buy another graphics card........ BUt, plus one for the buid

Yeah, you need to remove rivet and a screw. You can use a hammer and a small flat screwdriver to pop the rivet out.

Yeah, I dont know what they were thinking. this is a gaming case, not a server case. I dont know a single gamer who need 11 HDD.

I wish the case was 2cm longer and another 2 cm for the cable management.

Yeah, if the case was 2cm longer the water-cooling would have been a dream, the reservoir/pump was just a nightmare to figure out.

For $200 there are very few if any better options. The 290x performs better than the 470/480, and is essentially the same card as the 390x.

I agree it is an amazing build, but the colour coordination is not perfect i.e. the mousepad. Easily could win though with minor changes.
