Back in March, I built my new Skylake build. The build went great and i even made a post here. But at the time there were a few things bothering me.
First, I'd bought the GPU over a year ago and it didn't seem to the system justice. And i wanted to beyond 1080p gaming and that card wasn't gonna cut it with the monitor I had my eye on.
Second, while almost everything looked great, the massive heatsink of the CPU cooler was a bit of an eyesore. And the stock cables from the PSU didn't help too.
Next, I had gotten a fan controller from Silverstone, but all my fans were 3 pin fans and therefore ran at a 100% all the time :/
So now that I've finally started working full-time and have some cash to splurge, I decided to take my system from a mid-tier one to a true beast of a system. Here are all the upgrades I made:
Got the Acer Predator X34. This monitor is literally (totally subjective opinion) the best monitor for gaming. The only thing someone might say is that it isn't 144hz. Though I'd pick the 21:9 aspect ratio over 144hz anyday.
Got 2 MSI GTX 1080's. I thought 2 might be overkill, but games like Witcher 3 can dip below 60 on a single card.
Got the 950 PRO. Now I can instalock Hanzo in every match in overwatch :D (jk, please don't pick Hanzo)
Got all new PWM fans for the fan controller. Now it is absolutely silent on idle and pretty quiet even on full load.
Got the Corsair H60. Yes, I know it's not a whole lot better than the Hyper 212 Evo I had. But this was more about aesthetics than anything else. And I've got my CPU at GHz now. That's plenty.
Got sleeved extensions and cablecombs from Phanteks. They look great. All I was looking for.
Got a bunch of peripherals to go with the setup.
As always, Yes, I know this is very long post :P But if you're reading all the way till here, thank you! Have a nice day Sir/Madam :D
