Description

I'm a 16 year old and this is my first PC build. I probably could've saved some money on some parts like the cooler and motherboard but I was willing to spend extra on aesthetics and future upgradability.

I use the pc mainly for gaming and some light video editing. I also use this pc for some school work. So far no issues running games on this pc. I mainly play DOTA 2 and CSGO but this pc had no problems playing games such as Fortnite, Rainbow and GTA on max 1080p.

CPU Ryzen 5 2600 - I overclocked this cpu to 4.1 GHz with no issues there. Temps are slightly on the high end.

Motherboard- no issues with the motherboard other than the RGB controls. the app doesn't control every single lighting, you have to go to the BIOS to change the colours.

SSD- should've gone with 240gb as 120 fills up really quick.

GPU- No issues with the gpu, overclocked it to another 150MHz

Case- very well built, good cablemanagment(came with a bunch of zipties). Easy to build with, nice lighting but, very poor airflow which is the reason why I bought 4 fans.

Monitor- Love this monitor, 1080p 144hz 1ms response time and it is curved. I thought it was amazing for it's price. no height adjustment but you can adjust the angle which is fine by me because I used to use a laptop. Comes with a built-in headphone hanger.

Peripherals- Keyboard is great with the Mx reds, I kept my old mouse (Razer deathadder chroma) and the mouse pad is very smooth, similar to razer goliathus speed.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with my build. Runs very smooth, no issues so far. PC boots super quick and I can play my games with no lag. Huge improvement from a crappy laptop.

Please comment any suggestions you have for the setup!

Part Reviews

CPU

Great CPU, overclocked it 4.1 GHz. Temps get a bit high

CPU Cooler

Great cooler! it was cheaper than the non-RGB version. Installation was simple and I could sync the RGB to my motherboard which was a nice touch.

Motherboard

Great motherboard! goes well with the theme of my build. However the rgb app doesn't work very well, I had to go to the bios to change the colours.

Memory

Cheapest white RAM I could find, goes well with my build and I managed to overclock it to 3000 MHz

Storage

Fast SSD for it's price, pc boots in 20 seconds. I recommend going with 240gb instead of 120gb as it fills up very quick.

Storage

plenty of storage for games, would recommend this hard drive as it is reputable

Video Card

Great GPU! I went with this over the GTX 1660 due to price vs performance. This gpu has 8gb of vram and easily smashed 60fps in all my games on max 1080p. There is a little bit of GPU Sag but I fixed this by routing the cable from the top of the GPU

Case

Good build quality, nice tempered glass, nice but subtle case lighting. Easy to build in with great cable management.

Took 1 star off due to poor airflow with the front intake. However, there are dustfilters for all the fans and powersupply. Also the lack of space between the power supply and the hard drive cage but, the case lets you route the cables from the front panel.

Power Supply

Great power supply, does it's job. Cables are covered giving the nice black look but a bit stiff.

Monitor

Best monitor for its price! use it for gaming and editing, very smooth. Comes with a headphone hanger but it doesn't have height adjustment.

Keyboard

Awesome keyboard! like the sound of the mx reds. nice windows lock key and media keys. comes with a detachable wrist wrest.

Well done! Clean and really aesthetic.

And thanks for positioning the case on the "right" side of your desk :o) Most people who place the case like you did, place it on the right side so you can see the bunch of cables that are connected.

Cheers! I placed it on the left cause I have a printer on the other side of my desk. But I still wrapped my cables in a sleeve.

Very nice build! Do you find that having the back fan up against the wall like that prevents maximum cooling? I’m about to build my first PC and have to do front-back cooking with only a few inches of clearance in the back.
