Description

I mostly use my PC for gaming and music production.

I actually bought the Gigabyte Gaming K7 first. Don't buy it. It gave me so many problems. CPU vcore was too high, USB ports randomly died, BIOS is absolute trash and would just corrupt itself and both motherboards did not come with a CMOS battery. Like wtf?? And don't get me started on RGBFusion. It literally never works. And when it decides to work it doesnt do the vengeance rgb correctly and would be out of sync most of the time. This would happen when i set a color https://photos.app.goo.gl/UyNoAAVpdvffCh7n9 (hope i am allowed to post links :O) Anyways, I had to RMA this board twice and got a refund. Now i have the Crosshair VII Hero Wifi and i am so happy i bought this board. RGB works and overclocking is awesome. There are so many options unlike the Gigabyte board. The only thing I miss from my gigabyte board is the audio. But with some EQ-ing i managed to get the same result so i guess that is fine.

The case is OK. For budget builds it is fine but airflow absolutely sucks. So I always have my front shroud and glass panel off because otherwise i would be thermal throttling when gaming which sucks. And the top of the case is so thin and when you put something on there you can see it go down :O.

Now for the RGB :). I use a software called RGBSync from GitHub and it allows me to use Asus aura to sync my Motherboard LEDs with a lot of other devices. (doesn't work with x370 or b350 boards since asus aura's sdk is kind of broken and trash i heard and keeps on throwing random access violation errors. I thought it would not work with my board but apparently on x470 it works. Also met someone online who's non wifi board also worked.). I tested It with my Corsair Glaive RGB Mouse and a Razer Chroma X from my friend.

Future upgrades: I am still planning on getting a Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic and a bunch of Corsair HD120 fans.

If you have any questions just message me here or add me on discord: crashniels#3692

Update 1: i just bought a k95 and received my pixel 2 xl two weeks ago. will be updating with more pictures and better pictures.

Nice and simple build for your use and I do agree Gigabyte need to work on their mobos my friends have had many problems with them.

yeah. gigabyte boards used too be good but i feel like they are getting worse and worse now. most of the x370 and b350 boards from gigabyte have issues. had to flash a custom bios from a modding forum for most of my problems to disappear and get better oc results. even a stable bios would have been nice gigabyte; one that doesn't corrupt itself all the time. vcore management is also catastrophic with stock bios. my vcore would randomly spike up to 1.5 - 1.7 volts and i read online that someone fried his 1800x because his cpu got 2.3v. after he noticed it it was already too late.
