Description

This build was intense. It started as a little back and forth between me and a workmate of mine who was really interested in getting a pc. He's a big fan of the Resident Evil franchise and since Resident Evil 2 was just remastered, he wanted to get an amazing system up and running to play it. We started going over some specs and before you knew it we had a list.... that quickly changed into a different list.... and on and on and on. We eventually settled on the 1000D Corsair monster case because of its dual pc setup and custom watercooling options, buuut that wasn't enough. My coworker (lets call him Dan) comes up to me after I start to figure out how to do watercooling since I haven't done it before and asks, "Can we go with a different case?" which I said "Uh sure what are you thinking?" "How about my TV stand."

I was a bit, well I was a bit pissed because I reeeally wanted to build in that ginormous case but on top of that I knew what had to be done to the stand to get it in a state to house a pc. What he was asking was turning a somewhat simple 1 weekend job into a several weekend job with precise cutting, mounting, and constant adjusting. In essence I knew it was gonna be a nightmare.

After getting over that little fact, I started ordering parts and started to assemble the most challenging build I've ever done. The pictures are up to date, we are still trying to figure out the best way to do cable management. If you have any suggestions please leave a comment. Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to The Hive.

Hands down, the most creative and awesome build I’ve seen on this site. 10/10. +1

Very dope, absolutely love it. Very inspirational for future projects.

For suggestions, I may have a few.

For cable management you could drill some extra holes into the TV stand where you have placed the motherboard and make it match the same format as most PC cable management compartments, that way you could direct cables through the bottom of the TV stand and hide them using cable trunking or something.

Also you could make the thing a little prettier by using a few dimmable LED strips, make it shine a little.

Plus I haven't seen any dust covers on those intake/exhaust fans, installing some easy exchangeable dust covers would be beneficial to keeping the machine clean and eye-candy.

Something similar to this has been on my to-do list for quite some time. I've always loved the concept, cause having a full desktop in the living room can look weird, and most HTPC cases are kind of boring.. I like how you did the theme.

Just make some shrouds to route the cables through. Slap two planks together and put more of that diamond plate on it.
