I recently got my hands on quite a few different used parts and I'm super excited about it!
This one actually started off as a prebuilt CyperPower PC one of my friends had. I bought it off of him after I helped him upgrade (I'll be posting that build sometime soon after we finish up some troubleshooting). It had pretty much the same stuff in it except a different power supply and a different GPU that I moved to a different build (also coming soon).
There was a touchscreen fan controller that had seen better days so I just unplugged it and bunched off the cables to the side since it was doing more harm than good. There was also this really weird led strip thing that had a button on a PCI bracket? I'd never seen anything like that before and it was just taking up space. Also, the old GPU just BARELY had enough clearance to the HDD bays which was part of the reason I saved that one for a different build and replaced it with a 750 Ti i got off LetGo for $15.
Otherwise, the build process was pretty straight forward since I really only swapped out a few different parts, but as you can see in the before pictures, the build was quite a bit of a mess so I had some cleaning and organisation to do for sure.
Decent budget CPU in 2019. Having 8 threads helps out, but the platform is getting pretty dated.
Lots of room for cable management and airflow along with a TON of HDD bays. Old school cool.
