Description

AMD Ryzen build for everything, from gaming to photo/video editing to 3D modeling. I originally cheaped out on parts but ended up replacing a bunch and am planning to replace some more (like ram, motherboard [VRMs seem to be limiting OC potential, and is a bit small for my case], CPU cooler, maybe SSD) Once I get it to the final state I will re upload. Also there's a ton of RGB that I spent way too much on... Hope you like it!

Part Reviews

CPU

Good chip for productivity for gaming, would spend the extra $15 next time for the 1600X as I (and most others) got a lower end bin which is frustrating for overclocking. But besides that no problems. Make sure to get high speed ram for ryzen builds as it makes a big difference.

CPU Cooler

horrible am4 "bracket" solution, tacky leds, but decent temps. overall waste of money, even $10 off on black friday. Wait for their new ryzen focused line, or at least go for the non led version

Edit: Just got an Asus Crosshair VI X370 board and it supports AM3+ fan brackets. If you are getting it for an AM3 based system I would rate 4 stars

Motherboard

it works, but vrms suck, looks cheap, and not enough internal usb ports for me, also usb 3.0 stopped working after a few months. Okay for a budget build but nothing else

Edit: eventually got to the point where my system would only boot half of the time, new mobo fixed everything. Can't believe I lived with this for so long

Memory

works fine, one died after overclocking to 2667mhz, so don't expect a good oc

Storage

works fine, but go for 500gb, even if it's just a boot drive, you'll want to use the fast speed for everything else.

Video Card

got this a few days before the gpu market ate ****, good card, geforce software sucks. Was my second choice of gpu, unfortunately rx 580 strix cards have been out of stock

Case

very nice case, good airflow and very beautiful, above average cable management... BUT NO PSU COVER! UGHHHH...

Wireless Network Adapter

great, no problems, nice and fast

Case Fan

beautiful (make sure to get one of the 2 packs for 140mm, you need the included rgb fan hub which isn't sold seperately)

Edit: really wished that the fans I paid almost $140 in total had braided cables, cables kinda look like crap.

Case Fan

beautiful, you need to buy this pack for the included rgb fan hub which isn't sold separately.

how did you put the graphic card this way?

in the thermaltake view, there are pci slots in a vertical orientation, allowing you to have the graphics card mounted vertically. Also, a pcie riser cable is required to connect it too the motherboard, let me know if you want photos or anything else.

Yes pls can you do some pics. And you say "geforce software sucks. " did you say it as a joke or is it really so bad ?

It's pure bloatware. Doesn't do anything useful and forces you to make an account with them. AMD's gpu software is so much better

Nice build! More ram and Corsair LL fans are the 2 things I want to add to my build.

yeah, having ram is definitely nice. But don't go for rgb until you are 100% done buying components, I made the mistake of investing in rgb halfway through my build.

Nice looking build. I wanted to ask about the Corsair fans. My question is: I'll be putting 9 fans into my case (future build) and I want these Corsair fans. I would just need to make sure that one of the fan packs come with a Node Pro, right? I'm just clarifying bc I'm a noob and I thought that I'd just buy the 2 and 3 fan packs which all come with rgb hubs. One hub should be enough though, correct?
