When I was a kid, I've dreamed of building my own PC. I've always wanted to hand pick my hardware by my self instead of buying a built one.
I've always used a laptop since I came in Canada for school/work purposes. But last month, I had this urge to make my own PC because my laptop can't run my LoL properly no more. Major drop in FPS during clash. Some random crashes which I don't even know why.
Basically, I ain't happy anymore. But I still owe my Gateway Laptop a lot for letting me do important stuff for school/work.
But I think its time for me to join the PC MASTER RACE club.
Basically, the machine will be used for light gaming only. Probably some more intensive gaming in the future, depends on my mood. I play a lot of League of Legends. Will be playing Overwatch with some friends soon. Gonna download steam soon to check some games. I like RPG games.
And credit to my GF for pushing me to get a new gaming pc. She's ranting about my laptop that she can't watch from it properly.
I've heard good things about this beast. Can't wait to unlock its full potential in the future. I'll give it 5 stars never-the-less.
Got this MOBO on sale + $35.00 MIR at when I was picking up my i3 on a local store.
Basically has all the sockets I need, and would need in the future if ever I want to upgrade and add more stuff. Plenty of room for upgrades for sure. And its a Z170 with OC capability.
Only downside is its kinda brownish color - wish it was black. And the RAM slots is kinda close to each other. But its still ok.
I like the design + color. RAM is RAM.
Coming from a laptop with HDD - Boot time of windows is through the roof. Probably around 10 sec or less boot time. Didn't really paid attention.
I will leave this un-rated for the mean time because NCIX its taking their time to deliver me my GPU.
I know its not the strongest out there - but with all the games I play so far, this GPU is good enough for me. Can't wait til it arrived.
Good entry GPU - more than capable of running my MOBAs. I also heard good things about this 750ti. Can't wait to have it.
3 stars - a little small for a mid size ATX tower in my opinion. I like the design though, was wishing its a little taller/bigger. If you can spend more with the case, I would suggest to get a better one. Cable management can be a nightmare to people like me who has a non-modular PSU.
Got this PSU on sale for $44.99 from a local store. 600 watt power and Bronze certified. This will last my build and future upgrades down the road for sure.
Only down side is of course, its non-modular.
My girlfriend bought me this Keyboard/mouse combo while looking for a speaker at a local store. She wanted to buy those $100+ keyboards, but I told her that this is more than enough for me. We actually had a bit of argument because she wanted the more expensive keyboard for its quality (and shiny RGB backlight), but had managed to opt this one instead.
It has all I need - good RGB backlight and font. Comes with a mouse.
PS* She likes to watch me play LoL a lot. Gets mad at me for doing bad at a game.
