Description

I recently got a sweet new job in IT and I decided to treat myself and build a new gaming rig. I've always wanted to replace my three year old AMD based rig which was always quite loud (dubbed Beast). Now I have wonderfully quiet computer even when under load. Probably the loudest part of this build is the dvd/cd tray >.> Also the tower with everything else in it is HEAVY. I imagine it weighs around 30-40 lbs.

I've also cleaned up the cables, all nice a tidy where it matters. I've also added the Headphones that I bought for this computer. The sound that comes out of the DT860 are simply amazing. The fact that they were on sale was another bonus.

You should teach people your naming skills, because that is the single most original name I've ever seen. It symbolizes uncontrolled power, waiting to be tamed and focused upon. The beauty and natural elegance of it is a testament to your most holy eloquence.

Return the ram and switch it in favor of a 2x4GB kit. Otherwise, good build.

Maybe he needs them for streaming "Alien Isolation" so I see 16gb ram is Justifiable

People will downvote because of the name 'Beast'. It's over used. Why 16 gbs of RAM. It's not needed.

How's the CPU? It's a little old now. You enjoying the Sabertooth?

I'm pretty sure we are over that. People just don't even care about "Beast" in the name anymore.

I've been enjoying the mobo thus far. Lots of very nice features with an easy application to view temp and other settings.

I upgraded a friends mobo for him to the Sabertooth Z97 LGA1150. He's extremely happy now that OC'd his i5 to 4.6 ghz!

Yeah this actually is one of the better "beast" builds.

There are a lot of improvements should be done on cable management.

Apart from what has been said you might want to buy at least a 1 TB HDD. That 250 SSD will get full before you know it. Great build though.

I already own a USB 3 1.5TB HDD. I didn't bother listing it simply because it isn't necessary to list.

What's with all the downvoting? Sure the name is unoriginal but otherwise it's nice. He didn't say anything about mods but 16gb is better than 8gb for heavily modded games, although it would've been better to get them in a 2x8gb set. If he ordered the parts after the 970/80 came out then that would be where he messed up and 1tb of HDD would certainly be nice.

Hm am I the only one that doesn't think that name is that bad? Well anyways, nice build. The memory choice was really odd IMO - 1x8(2)? That choice wasn't justified at all. Other than the RAM I don't think this is a bad build at all. Congratulations on your IT job btw too +1

I was somewhat limited in what I could get with memory. I simply took the cheapest option available from the retailers I had access too. Ram is Ram and Kingston makes reliable products.

My friends called my old computer a "Beast" and it simply stuck. Hence I dubbed this version 2.0 in spirit of my old computer.

Why buy 2 1x8 instead of 2x8? And why even buy 16gb of RAM? But pretty cool build.

Great build, really now the downvoting over the name "beast" is just getting annoying.
