Description

Usage:

Heavy Gaming, Video Editing, Programming.

Problems:

  • The fan that came with the H60 is garbage. I'd suggest you replace it with a better, higher-quality aftermarket fan.

  • I'll never ever buy Patriot memory again. The current DIMMS are replacements for the last set I had that died within a year.

  • The entire rig is very heavy, so if you bring your rig to friends you probably don't want the P280. It is, however, a dream to do cable management on.

Thoughts:

  • I know OCZ gets a lot of **** for their awful SSDs, however I've had absolutely zero problems with this PSU. The P280 also helps keep it nice and clean.

  • The Recon fan controller does not fit in the case. The P280 does not have holes for screws on the right side of the drive bay, only the left.

Part Reviews

CPU Cooler

For the price point, the H60 is a good buy. However the fan they provide you with is very low quality. It's too loud and doesn't push enough air. I replaced the fan with an after market Corsair fan and had much better performance.

Fan Controller

Does the job but it will randomly beep one or two beeps. (Not the three beeps to signal overheating). No way to silence it either.

Headphones

Amazing sound and a perfect long-lasting comfortable fit. Couldn't be happier!

Are you planning on running another monitor for 5760x1080? If so, please let me know what kind of FPS you get on some games.

ecnepsnai submitter 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

Hey Syntaxerrur,

I'm planning to replace those screens with two 1440p 140hrz screens in the future.

I'll let you know what FPS I get on some games when I do the switch!

why 2 660? surely 1 more powerful card would have been better?

For the cost, it's great. The bezel is big but it was a sacrifice I had to make.

ecnepsnai submitter 1 Build 2 points 33 months ago

Dude really high quality pictures! +1 btw. How well does that CPU cooler perform? Been looking for a decent AIO cooler for a while.

ecnepsnai submitter 1 Build 2 points 32 months ago

Thank you. I took them with a Sony A57 SLT.

The H60 is "okay". It's not great but not bad. I recently replaced the fan with a Phanteks SP fan and it performs a lot better now.

Maphisto86 1 point 12 months ago

What fan did you use to replace the stock one on the Corsair H60? Are you still using this AIO cooler or did it konk out on you?

mmm yeah that should do it
