Description

Hello! I see you've stumbled into my build! This was made by some used and some new parts (mainly the pieces needed to upgrade to skylake).

Recycled parts from last build: - MSI GTX 660 2G - Western Digital 1TB Blue HDD - EVGA 430w Power Supply

We added electric tape for the PSU and stock cooler cables so it looks nicer and I added the G1 gaming sticker to the stock cooler to make it look like it fits the build!

The new parts work wonders. I came from an old Athlon x4 750k and, even for a dual core, the G4400 either meets its performance or reaches new heights! I know it looks weird seeing this monstrous motherboard with such meager parts but that's only because i'm going to upgrade this bad boy later on. I've been looking at either the i5-6600k or the i7-6700k with a 1070 or AMDs counterpart later on.

Part Reviews

Motherboard

Very easy to deal with! Sata ports are pointed sideways to look nicer. Aesthetics are great and has plenty to work with!

Case

Phenomenal cable management for those that lack there of. Only downsides were this being a fingerprint magnet and the front-facing panel was tough to get off for me. Took me a piece of cloth, a butter knife, and a rubber spatula to take it off! Still my favorite case though, I highly recommend it.

Power Supply

Gets the job done but the cables look like playdough spaghetti.

Thanks, have had it since release!

When I got mine on release day, my dog chewed up the cord to the controller. To this day, it still works even though it is covered in a thick layer of electrical tape. XD

Red/black/white cable sleeves needed! also just a little touch of accent lighting to go with that. likely white/colorless or maybe red. really like the motherboard colors along with your peripherals

Ty guy! I'm definitely planning on sleeved cables and white LED lighting down the like! Like it says it's a soon-to-be Behemoth!

Looking forward to seeing the updated build.

What keyboard do you have in the pictures? I'm looking at keyboards right now, so would you recommend it?

It looks like the regular Corsair K70, non-RGB version

Because it is! I am both lucky and unfortunate to get this since a week after I bought it the RGB variant was announced... But now this thing feels a bit more "special".

I got the normal K70 a few weeks ago, and I really like it. The RGB version is a little over the top for me, as I think it would be a little distracting, and I would just have it on one color.

What kind of switches do you have? I got MX Browns.

I got red switches, all of my friends got browns and from what I can tell i'm glad I went with these. I love the feeling of finishing off a key as if I were the knife and it was butter!

It's the original Corsair Vengeance K70! You can find the RGB version on Amazon, i'd highly recommend it other than cleaning it is a hassle.

Thanks for the recommendation. My K70 RGB MX Red should be arriving soon!

I have the Strafe RGB in Mx Blues myself, RGB version is very nice especially when you get a music/sound visualizer profile for it. I like the idea of a media control with the sound roller and mute keys on K70, but I really wanted Mx Blue switches and so I went with the Strafe.

How do you like the motherboard? I just bought the same one for my new build. I'm getting the ram and a I5-6600k next Saturday, which then I'll be able to power it on.

The bios is pretty bland but other than that this motherboard is fantastic! I have heard around that these skylake gigabyte boards can have issues with the your ram if your unlucky. I was fortunate enough to have everything go as good as It could be though!

Oh okay, hopefully I won't. I ordered 16 GB of G Skill Rip Jaw Trident Z 3200 MHz ram.

Does that G1 sticker come with the motherboard? It looks very good on the stock CPU Cooler! :D

whats on the cpu fan cable?

That would be Electrical tape! For gross rainbow cables all I did was tightly wrap electrical tape on what I saw fit.

just put it in one of the 4 pin connectors, that's what we did and it works fine!

Did the motherboard come with that sticker you put on the CPU cooler?

Yes, actually! I was very happy to find that out so i didn't have to use electric tape or black marker to get rid of the blue on the intel logo on the cpu cooler! Was a perfect fit!
