This is my first ever build and it is still a work in progress. My son is 13 and is a big gamer so I decided to finally take the plunge. His gamer tag has Lunar in it so we decided to go with a Lunar theme.
I just replaced the cpu cooler with a Deepcool Castle 360, and added two dummy Corsair memory modules which I am having trouble syncing. I also swapped out the astronaut for an RGB Hologram type. I will also be adding a custom RGB GPU faceplate with a design for his gamer tag. I’m also still waiting on a few parts including the m.2 1TB ssd drive. Also the keyboard, mouse, gaming chair, and desk have yet to arrive so I have no good place to put it until that arrives. Any advice on what I can do with water cooling is also appreciated. I also originally had the trident royal rgb silver kit in it, but believe it or not it just felt like too much bling, lol, so I reverted back to the Corsair.
We bought the astronaut as a goof for his room, but then realized it looked interesting in the case and I could wire it to a rear USB. Would love to keep it if we can fit cooling in with it. Maybe I just get a radiator for the InWin Ego lights.
I am still a little unsure of the cable management aspect internally so if you have any advice on ways to make it cleaner let me know. I haven’t taken any meaningful benchmarks yet, but it seems the case is running pretty cool. I’ll report back with a few days on it.
Overall I was surprised by how easy it was to build this and it just worked as soon as I loaded windows, which really surprised me. I figured there would be something that I would need to do to tweak it to get things to function properly. Only complication is getting all of the argb lights coordinated. Still waiting on a splitter to make it all work with Mystic Light, but Mystic Light is pretty sparse. It needs work. I also have a Roc argb hub and I prefer the Aura software, but I’m sure there will be mods for it soon.
Edit: I just ordered the DEEPCOOL Castle 360EX AIO. I don’t have the time right now to do a loop so I think this is a good middle ground. It got really good reviews. I’ll use the InWin Case fans and this radiator and CPU pump. The logo is customizable so I’m thinking a moon, an astronaut, or just lunar.
Here are the benchmarks...
UserBenchmarks: Game 115%, Desk 106%, Work 110% PC Performing way above expectations (93rd percentile) CPU: Intel Core i9-9900K - 109.7% GPU: Nvidia RTX 2080 - 130.6% SSD: T-force 1TB 1TB - 128.8% RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO DDR4 3200 C16 2x16GB - 104.9% MBD: MSI MEG Z390 ACE (MS-7B12)
It speaks for itself. We originally purchased the i7 8700k, but this was on sale at micro center and I said wtf.
The motherboard was very easy to install as was the entire system. I was shocked that when it was all together it just worked without need for any changes. The bios is pretty simple to work within. The mystic software could use more personal configuration options or themes. I love all of the external USB ports. I had one bent rgb pin that I was able to gently unbend when I received it. No issues.
Look great and match the aesthetic of the case. Seems very stable and quick.
Looks cool and one of the first things my son commented on was how much quicker games opened up. Easy to install.
Had a few issues getting the screws in but finally worked it out. Modular system design makes it super easy and the black cables look great.
