Build log Youtube playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLq3mcKHT4GwyObA5bsZ4d-TbNtMIJ217T

A scratch-built rig I designed and constructed for G.Skill's booth at Computex 2019.

The entire chassis was designed from the ground up to show off G.Skill's Trident Z Royal RGB memory. To do this I incorporated their crystal pattern into the distro plates and lighting panels. The pattern itself is 3D milled from acrylic, there are no decals or films used here and everything was cut from scratch by me.

The frame is constructed from 3mm, 4mm and 5mm aluminium, all CNC-cut and polished. Most of the watercooling is handled by a pair of distro plates, one of which includes a DDC pump mounted directly to it underneath the PSU shroud. The cabling is fully custom, with each wire cut to length so that the runs are perfectly even.

Lighting is handled via Corsair LED strips that are run inside the lighting panels, each can be controlled individually via iCue.

I had 2 1/2 weeks to design everything, make the parts and assemble it all. Was a little bit mental as a time frame haha

Nice build! I've seen some crazy builds on here but your theme is the best I've seen in my opinion. It's super clean, bold and sharp as hell looking. This will be the next feature for sure.

Amazing build, I truly wish I had the skill to build something like this. It is not even a PC build, its an engineering master piece. The design really captures the personality of the G.Skill Royal range. You don't just need to be proficient in PC building to put together this masterpiece, its takes vision, craftsmanship and I'm sure much more. Bravo!

First, this is incredibly well-done and your attention to detail is unmatched. Second, do you happen to do tempered glass etching? I'm looking to have a custom design etched onto the side panel of my rig, but can't seem to find anyone who does it.

  • 2 points

Unfortunately I don't offer that atm. That said you should be able to find laser cutting shops who can do it pretty easily, it's not a complex job if you have the graphics to hand already so many places will take it on. You can also etch glass using etching compounds, so you could always have a stencil cut out from vinyl on a plotter (if the shape isn't too crazy) and then do the etching yourself.

The Trident Z Royals are tacky, but you made them look good.

If only PCPP would allow me to upvote this build. There has recently been a bug on the site and I cannot upvote.

Why do you need 64gb of RAM. Launching rockets?

  • 1 point

It's what was supplied. My personal rig actually has 128GB as I frequently push past 64 doing large scale panorama stitching and similar work.
