Description

Slightly overkill in the cooling department with dual loops and four radiators. Has been recently upgraded to x99 and the coolant loops changed to both GPU and CPU, colour is mayhems X1 UV green with a couple of deep blue dye drops. CPU loop is powered by a D5 pump feed from the main res and cooled by a Alphacool 420 x 45 mm and XSPC 240 x 30 radiators. The GPU loop uses an EK pump res combo and is cooled using an Alphacool 280 x 60 mm and Alphacool 240 x 30 mm radiators. The case has been modified putting the HDD's in the 51/4" bays with an additional corsair fan which pulls air across them and into the main compartment. The forward compartment side was cutout and a perspex window fitted to enable viewing of the GPU res. The water-cooling components are connected using EK and Bitspower rigid tubing fittings and Monsoon 16 mm acrylic tubing. The OS is on the Samsung PM961 NVME PCIe M.2 SSD plugged into the lower PCIe slot using an Asus adaptor card rather than using the motherboard's M.2 slot. This is mainly for better access and also better cooling. One Evo 840 is for Applications, the other games. The 2 Tb HDD is for Media and the 1Tb is setup for backups.

Slightly overkill in the cooling department

Who cares? ;-) Grab a better SLI bridge, get some natural light in the photos and you just might have a feature... +1

This probably will be featured anyways, so......

get some natural light

"Natural light"? What's that? Maybe it's some dirty console peasants stuff. We don't come out of the cave.

jk I agree with your comment

But console peasants can't afford windows... So it would be a PC thing, right?

I don't know why I'm saying this. I have an Xbox One too.

Thanks for info, a larger bridge would give some balance to the left side. The previous build had the GPU input at the top of the cards and the tube was routed around this side , hence the skinny SLI link.

Sure. Understood.

This has been up for 5+ hours and Jipster hasn't commented?

Is he alive?

Maybe he's being held hostage by some of the staff members. I think Ex-Sharkman and the masked legend are behind this.

Awsome looking rig. Love that little spot which shows through to the pump / res, looks amazing.

The Fluid and bending it also very nicely done. Easy +1

Thanks, that bending took a lot of careful measuring, it is hard to keep everything at right angles. The window mod for the front pump res took 2 days.

Love it! Will those GPUs be seeing an upgrade anytime soon?

  • 1 point

Hey thanks. GPU's will stay for a while as it costs a fortune to custom watercool SLI. They were second hand and have just replaced a pair of GTX 680's.

Are you licensed to work with hightoxic material?!

Wouldn't want to drink it, gives the best UV glow by far. I previously had UV Blue and UV Clear Blue which also works really well and matches the UV lighting glow better.

That green and purple... So pretty...

Beautiful! When I first read the name of the build, thought it said "Deep Throat". Honest mistake or dirty mind? Either way, well done. The green and purple look amazing together!

how did you get that ssd?

  • 1 point

Hi I bought it from a retailer here in the uk. Only problem is Samsung Magician doesn't recognise it as a Samsung drive because it is OEM only. I have been running it with the microsoft NVME drivers which are not meant to be optimised for this drive and so was happy when Samsung finally issued their 2.0 version for the 960 EVO drive, which this effectively is only about £40 cheaper. I updated to the new driver expecting great things only to be disappointed with slightly slower performance. However in day to day running I notice no difference. Better sticking with SATA for now, cheaper and quicker boot times.

its ok the new Corsair Force MP500 M.2 ssd just released recently and it has better speeds than this and is sold on newegg. 256gb for $170. Im probably going to get that. its has up to 3000Mbps Read and 2400Mbps write. thanks for the suggestion anyway

Is there any tips that you could give me for the mod with the resevoir/pump? It brings the build together so well!
