Description

This is a revisit of my other ultra fast gaming PC.

So, Ryzen 3000 came out, I was determined to get a brand new cpu, mobo, and ram. So, I went to the local microcenter which had the R5 3600 in stock unlike anyone else. I had initially planned on getting a micro ATX steel legends B450 mobo to pair with my R5 3600 however microcenter did not carry it. On top of that, they had $50 off any eligible motherboard with the purchase of the R5 3600 and those eligible motherboards were only X570's. Due to the fact that the X570 is superior to a B450, I went with spending $15 more to get a less asthetically pleasing, but better mobo. As for the ram, they had it but it was around $40 more than on Amazon, so, I ordered it and had it arrive a day later.

Now the fun began. I started with the mobo as usual. No issues until it came to the cooler. I had initially planned to use a Hyper 212 EVO. It seemed to fit fine with it hitting the first ram stick, however, I was more focused on cooling with this build so I was going to let that slide. Until the cooler was a pain in the *** to even put the back plate on with the screws coming lose all the time, then I had the part of trying to mount to cooler to the mobo which I won't even determine how damn impossible that was (it got violent, the cooler struck first). After wasting a good 30-45 mins on that I just decided to stick with the stock cooler. The rest of the build was fun, not much to say about it besides I hate non modular PSU's and I didn't get much time to cable manage.

Overall, I can confidently say that this is major improvement and that I am happy that the system booted the first try. The only issue I have is that audio does not work out of the front audio jacks do not recognize my headphones, not do all but one on the back. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Update 7-30-2019: Got a free Samsung 256gb SSD (its quite old but still works)

Part Reviews

CPU

Probably the best brand new budget cpu for gaming and productivity. A huge improvement over the i5 4570. 10/10 would buy again.

Storage

Ive been using it for 5 years. It just works.

Is the ASRock a good mobo? You know besides the cooler mounting issues.

The issues I have with my PC overall is that the CPU temp while idle is quite high (im not sure if the mobo can be blamed for that), The RGB does does not seem to be functioning as the header which I have my fans connected to does not even recognize anything is plugged into it (could be user error), and the front audio jacks do not work either, nor one of the 3 on the rear of the mobo (could be drivers). Overall though, given how I am not experienced in the area, I would say that the mobo is quite good for the price I got it at. I havent attempted any overclocking but overall its just fine.

A 1070 cant run 16k and I dont think it can run 240fps on anything more than minecraft

Nope, just wanted to style my build after those Craigslist adds which Greg covers every once in a while. I thought it would help my build "stand out", which it did.

Hows the 1070 holding up?

Quite well as a matter of fact. The only game I really play anymore is Destiny 2, of which I have maxxed settings at 1080p with over 90fps (I capped to 65). Otherwise it runs great, I have absolutely no issues with cooling as it is always stable. Never have I heard the fans spinning (unless I will them to do so). As for Blender, it performs well. No issues. Oddly enough I like my card the older it gets. 10/10 would recommend (unless it suddenly dies).

That title there is whatcha call clickbait. click·bait /ˈklikbāt/ noun INFORMAL (on the Internet) content whose main purpose is to attract attention and encourage visitors to click on a link to a particular web page. ie. ULTRA FAST GAMING PC ($16000) RUNS 16K 240FPS WITHOUT EASE
