Description

I built this PC for my daughter... Well, I needed a reason to build one because I already have a Dell Inspiron for gaming. I let her pick the case but I chose most of the other parts.

Everything went together nicely and started right up. It has been performing pretty well. She is almost 8, so I have to force her to play games other than RoBlox. I got her to play 'Dark and Light', and the graphics all seem pretty smooth at the next to highest settings. I haven't tried anything more demanding yet.

I chose the processor based on some positive reviews on this site. Everything else, I just tried to get the best bargain- a compromise between quality and price.

Note: I have a 1x8 GB RAM stick contrary to the parts list because they don't have that one listed anymore but I want to include the correct price.

UPDATE: I will be adding the Seagate Barracuda 2 TB for game storage. I got the kids+ playing Destiny 2 and Battlefield V on the PCs. The PCs performing great! although I can see the difference between their PCs and mine.

+I build a PC for my son a month after this build. It's also posted on the site.

Part Reviews

CPU

After a couple of months on the new build, everything is great. Excellent processor for the money!

CPU Cooler

Fitting during installation was a little funny. All good otherwise.

Video Card

Operates and display is great. No complaints. Not far behind my RX 580. Especially for this low price.

Case

The panels were a little warped and needed some force to get into position.

Otherwise, it's an Excellent case!

This looks like a great build with both a clean look AND a lot of character for the overall cost. This case in particular can be tough to manage cables, but I definitely think this build deserves a lot of love. +1

For the average computer users (zillions more than gamers) this CPU and the other PGold's are a fantastic value and will work perfectly for non-gamers. But like last year here goes the damn price increases. This CPU was around $86 not that long ago,now about $106.

I know, damn. Temporary though- it will last a few years while she progresses in games.
