Description

Yes, I just referred to myself in the 3rd person lol

What's up guys. I just wanted to share my rig as I finally move away from a budget build into a high-endish Z97 build. This will be primarily used for video editing, gaming and hopefully some GPU benchmarking.

I documented the entire build on my YT channel so you guys can check it out if you wanna see some video of the rig in addition to pics https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLbZ2O4IngBgD6hMt-fWSpJWppsaYKZHEM

Thanks to HyperX for supplying the RAM and be quiet! for providing the PSU!

Oh and btw, I won the 290X Lightning in a contest a while back! :D

Let me know what you guys think of the build...

Great build! One question, do you play CS:GO? If you do, how much fps do you get?

LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!

looks like your graphics card could use that extra 6pin cable. Otherwise, +1

that 6-pin is optional, it's for the big boys. I'm not ready to go down that road just yet :D

Your Lightning looks much better than mine, the reactor core is so ugly.

yeah, personally not a fan of that reactor either. I think the new Lightning cards (980 Ti) look even better though

Yea, some people were saying they look like the G1 Gaming but i like them. I was also thinking of painting mine and making a new backplate. Nice videos btw.

Build looks great! Good job on managing all those extra wire lengths due to the extensions. I'd recommend painting the ends of the cables going into your psu black, so those extra colors don't take away and grab to much attention. Overall nice job. +1

Eventually I want to get full replacement cables that are all black. That should resolve that issue!

New subscriber jerry. Love that cpu cooler

great clean build! really nice.

is that a monitor speaker? what's the thing beside that? is that the one powering or controlling the volum for that thing?

They are Micca Club 3 speakers, the thing with the orange bottom is the mixamp for my Astro A40 headset and the thing to the left of the speaker is an SMSL SD-793II headphone amp.

The thing that actually powers my speakers is a Lepai LP-2020A+ (not pictured) but it's underpowered for my speakers so I don't recommend it.

you have a gtx 1070 ryzen build and another ryzen build and a ryzen sleeper pc and a rx 580 build (had). so why use the r9 290x in this one
