Description

So this is my first build. As a person who works for an IT department, I thought it was time to move away from Xbox and join the master race. Well specially since I am making the money to. I did a lot of research on what’s good and what’s not. I looked into this since February. My original price was $1,000 then $2,000 but I spent more than I wanted to. I have an ASUS gaming laptop that is older than 5 years and it is still running like new. Because of that, that’s why I bought nothing but ASUS, for the most part, and Corsair since they make excellent products. The prices you see is what I paid for so you can compare my price to yours. (Products bought in USD including tax)

Ummmmmmm, do you know what setup you could've had for 5k instead of getting a laptop as well??? Just look at the featured pcpp build and you'll see.

I do a lot of traveling so it would be pretty difficult to carry an entire desktop with me.

My girlfriend goes away for college so when I go visit her and shes working I can just use the laptop.

You don't need to spend 5k on a desktop. Don't worry bout that.

What I will criticize is that you work IT and bought windows 10 home. :P (Not actually a big deal but it has some networking features you may want)

Lol I thought about getting Linux instead but Windows 10 will be easier for my family to navigate if they need to use it. Also I had a laptop that was about $2000 I plan on getting so total it will be close to $5000

I was meaning to suggest 10 Pro. Mainly it gives you the ability to set custom domains/workgroups. I use my main computer like a server so it's on Win10 Pro.

Just a good-to-know if your IT career ever carries you that way.

You do make a good point and I did look into that. My company give us laptops to use but of course they are garbage. If the time does come where I would benefit more by using Windows 10 Pro, I will upgrade to it.

I need your post-purchase thoughts on the Bose Companions Series III speakers, because I've got myself a pair of those just recently

They are pretty good. I mean they are Bose speakers. They can get pretty loud. I have them connected to my monitor which the sound comes from the graphics card. I think they are a pretty good buy. I would recommend them over all.
