Description

After spending too many years with HAF X, i figured out that i don't need a big case for a huge performance anymore so I choosed a black Micro Atx case - Air 240 and tried to go with red inside.

-- All of the cables are red sleeved, i still need a usb 3.0 red sleeved extension cable. -- I choosed a H105 for watercooling and red ring and I got 4 AF120 Performance Fan with red circle. 2 of them are on the radiator. -- Also i choosed red ram and red Wifi Pci-Ex. -- If i have a chance i would go for Msı 980ti Gaming because of the red color but Air 240 is incompatible many of big cards so i eliminated it. Because of that I got a Gigabyte Gtx980 Ti G1 Windforce for this system, still waiting to be shipped, i guess it'll be with me in 3 days. -- I think my next upgrade will be mouse and the keyboard.

Everything is fine and working except the graphics card but anyway she's very beautiful right now. I really love to look at it.

If you have any questions or any comments or any suggestion, please feel free to ask/say.

-- UPDATE --

Graphics card added.

Part Reviews

CPU

Upgraded from 4790k and love it.

CPU Cooler

Had H100 before H105 is much more beautiful, more silent and more powerful. This is the best cpu cooling system i've ever used i guess.

Motherboard

Very stable, very powerful board and looks amazing.

Storage

This Ssd is the best upgrade of the entire system i guess. Ssd disks are accelerator pedal of the system and this one really does his job.

Case

Slim and beautiful look but big internal volume. The only problem is the window panel, it doesn't allow you to put big graphic cards.

Power Supply

It's his 3rd year with me, still powerful, still 0 problem.

Wireless Network Adapter

Got it 2 days ago and delighted with its performance.

Case Fan

They're really high quality fans, i choosed them because of their performance and red rings :)

Monitor

I wish it was an IPS panel :) Everything remain is excellent.

awesome build, i am sure that you can push the 6700k t0 4.7 ghz for benchmarking. I am looking at getting a 5820k ( because I need allot of cores) with a budget for a motherboard around 200 and asrock fatality micro atx is in that spot, but the atx version is allmost 50 bucks more, and the I thought it will not look right in the in win 805, (besides the fact the 805 officaly has the worst airflow), and I was also not sure about the air 240, but know seeing it with a h105(which I plan to get) and how good it looks with the red color scheme like mine, I feel like it is a solid choice.

Air 240 is compact but you can fit in everything you want. It's not a small case. I will never buy an atx case again. The only problem is that i mentioned, is the window panel, Air 240 needs an upgrade for that part. Because it limits you to choose graphics card.

Absolutely love this build. I will be doing something similar to this but with blue accents instead of red ones. If I do post my build to PCP, I promise I will credit you. This build is absolutely incredible.

My question is, It looks like you have led strips in it. What are they and how did you put them in?

Also, for your GPU, do you know if the Xtreme gaming version of the card would fit?

Thanks.

AJ

PS Killer build!!!!!

Hi, thanks for your comment.

"It looks like you have led strips in it. What are they and how did you put them in?" -- > They are white led, back of them is adhesive so you can stick it to the case without problem.

do you know if the Xtreme gaming version of the card would fit? --- > Evga Gtx980 Ti Hybrid fit so i guess Xtreme gaming would fit too.

You have one of the best looking Air 240s I've seen, and I've been looking at a lot!

I'm working on picking parts for a very similar system and I have a question on your fans. I'm planning to use some 240mm Corsair radiator in the front as intake with dual 120s exhausting up top (all Corsair SP120). I'm curious - how are your temperatures for the GPU in particular? I'm going to use an EVGA 980 SC (non-ACX) until Pascal cards are out and wonder if I shouldn't plan to put 92mm fans as intake on the bottom/side under the GPU for intake to cool it further and/or an 80mm or two exhausting at the back of the case? Do you get satisfactory temps with just the 4x 120 fans?

Last question, what make and model are the white LED strips you used? I love the look and might have to copy it. :]

Hi, thanks for your comment.. Glad you liked it.

Dont worry about the Gpu Temp, i dont think you need additional 92mm fans. Gpu doesnt go over 75 degrees which is normal. It's between 55-75 degrees depend on the usage. I've tried it at Farcry 4, Star Wars Battlefront, Diablo III, Witcher III.

I really dont know/remember the model name of Leds because they're very standard leds. 60 leds per meter. By the way 1.3 meter Led is totally enough for Air 240.

First of all, i suggest you to get dual ram. i mean 4gbx2 or 8gbx2 . By the way what's your main purpose for bulilding this pc? Gaming? internet/movie? What's your budget? Due to your answer, i'll try to help you.

dude this is soo cool but how come you didnt go with the i7 5820k it beats out the 6700k

  • 1 point

Thank you very much. There is not so many difference between two cpus if we're talking about gaming and X99 mainboards are much more expensive and harder to sell. That's why i chose skylake.

  • 1 point

well if you went skylake then the i5 6600k would be a better option because it beats out the i7

  • 1 point

I dont agree. Maybe it's more successful if we're talking about price/performance but is it better than 6700k? Definitely not.

  • 1 point

no it beats out the i7 in game performance but only by a slight amount
