Description

I was a fool and only checked height compatibility for the CPU cooler - which fits just fine in the case. However, it was much too large to fit with the pre-installed 120mm exhaust fans mounted on top and back. My answer was to commit the carnal sin of completely omitting exhaust fans and just using the two 140s on the front for intake. I run a fairly aggressive curve on the intakes hitting 70% @ 60c CPU and rolling up to 100% for anything above 72c CPU - a temperature I have yet to hit (even after running synthetic burns for a little over an hour). Fans at idle temps are around 25% with CPU fan always max. The thing gets noisy when running hot but I use a headset like any normal human so it isn't bothersome to me. Under real load, the CPU will keep under 68c with around 58-62c being average. The GPU (using the "Aggressive" fan curve from EVGA) runs at a high of around 70c under load. It hit 74c after an hour of furmark with everything dimed out. Cooling was the only worrisome / noteworthy part of this build but so far I've not felt uncomfortable with how things turned out. I've considered moving it all into a larger case with an ATX mobo and water but for the time being I like the compact aesthetic. Thanks for checking it out.

They're available on Amazon through that same seller but the website has more options, better pictures, lower prices, and IIRC free (or very cheap) 1-2 day shipping in case you don't have Prime.

I heard that the 2080 super gets almost the same performance as the regular 2080. (correct me if I'm wrong)

I can't personally compare side-to-side because I've never tested a 2080 myself, however based on the benchmarks I've seen the performance is a bit better on the Super than the vanilla 2080. I got this card for about $50 more than a regular 2080 would've cost me (sale on amazon at the time) so I figured it was worth the extra cash. I upgraded from a laptop with a 1070 which was a huge jump but if I had had a 1080ti through to a 2080 I definitely wouldn't have gone for the Super trying to get better performance.

How loud does the GPU get using the aggressive fan curve?

Can't hear it over the case fans. But it has yet to exceed 75C so I don't know how it would sound maxed out.

Cardinal sin...

Those seem like pretty decent temps, I have the same case and looking for a new GPU so this seems promising.

If you don't mind spending again, you should switch to a SFX power supply instead of using an ATX power supply. A good reviewer covered on this case said that a handful of the airflow passes through the power supply area, so a smaller one would help increase airflow and decrease temps. You could check out Gamers Nexus channel on youtube on his review for this case.

Other than that, it's a great build. The stickers look great. As a fellow anime fan i approve of this!
