I was initially given an AMD Ryzen 3 1200 and a Gigabyte GA-A320M-S2H V2 B350 Motherboard and was going to base my new build around these 2 items. However, I soon decided that I'd rather build around a Full ATX board, rather than a Micro ATX board.
I had thought to use parts of my existing build in this new PC; namely a 5GB Toshiba X300 7200rpm SATA HDD for Games, a 1TB Spinpoint F3 7200rpm SATA HDD for Storage, an LG Bluray writer and an ASUS Strix R9 380X GFX card.
However, partway through the build process the price of the RX570 halved, and I decided to use one of those instead of my R9 380X.
I also managed to source a Patriot Blast for 20% off the RRP and decided to use that instead of my old Spinpoint as a Storage drive.
Then, I decided, rather than using my X300 as a Games drive, I'd use a 2TB SSD instead.
Finally, I decided that rather than using my old optical drive in my PC, which to be honest I only use once or twice a month, I decided that I would just use an external USB3 DVDRW drive for the number of times it would be used.
This PC will be used as my main day-to-day PC. Main uses will be web browsing and gaming. The main games I play at the moment are Guild Wars 2 and Battletech.
I have since managed to upgrade the CPU for free: from a Ryzen 3 1200 to a Ryzen 5 2600.
Possible Future Upgrades: Ryzen 7/9, Extra NVMe SSD, RX 5700 XT GFX Card or Similar
