Description

After watching a lot of youtube videos talking about builds using secondhand parts, I though I would give it a go last year. Everything except for the SSD is secondhand, purchased from either Facebook Marketplace, ebay or CEX.

I don't have many games on this system because of my terrible internet collection, so I'm playing Grand Theft Auto V in story mode. Though I have kind of inconsistent average frame rates ranging from 36 FPS up to 80+ FPS.

Please ignore the prices on the parts list, I don't know how to modify them.

You're one of the few people who makes use of the 3.5" HDD mount in the RVZ02 and I appreciate that about your build. Also, that's a pretty respectable system for bargain hunting. I'd engage in it for the sport of it but I can't justify having another computer around.

I did have a flag go up when I saw your PSU orientation. I always thought that the fan is meant to face the other direction i.e. facing the same way as the CPU cooler. I hope this hasn't been a problem for you.

Thanks for the compliments, I enjoyed hunting for deals for this build since the price of new components is so high. In regards to the PSU orientation, I did notice that it was recirculating it's own exhaust, so while installing some more RAM I did flip it around. It has definitely improved temperature during extended gaming sessions.

Thanks! :-D The card is a Zotac NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB OC which is 174mm in length. I reckon you could fit a GPU that is 35mm longer at a push.

You can modify them in your saved part list by clicking on the cogwheel to the right of each item. Enter in the amount paid toward the bottom and then hit save. :) Then you can update the part list in your completed build posting. Nice finds!

This is so strange, have you tried to use riva tuner?

+1 for Small form Factor, and for the used parts.

Thanks for the tip. I've set my frame limit to 60fps and the whole experience has improved. :-D
