Wireless Network Adapter
The name comes from The Lord of the Rings and means white mountains in the Sindarin language. The Phantom 240 reminded me of the snow covered mountains seen the movies, with its tall and sloped point. Reference Page: http://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/White_Mountains
This build is nearly 2 years in the making. It first started when I was in 8th grade with an i3-6100 and R9 380, all on a micro atx board for about a year. I’m now in the 10th grade and upgraded nearly every core component. To get my build going in the right direction for a cleaner look, I upgraded the motherboard, which I picked up from a microcenter on clearance. About 6 months later, a friend gave me the GTX 970 for free! His original one was defective, and got it RMA’d, but had already gotten a 1060 by that time. I was originally going to buy it, but instead got it as a late birthday gift. I had also gotten some sleeved cables, and my build was starting to come along. The next upgrades were at Christmas time, which is when everything else fell into place. I decided to finally upgrade the processor since I was getting a new cooler for Christmas. I picked up the i5-6600k (which I had always dreamed of) off eBay used for $187, which works perfectly fine but have not gotten to overclocking yet. With several Amazon gift cards in hand, I put on the finishing touches. Although I do not like the whole RGB craze, these were cheap and had a nice clean white. In addition, I bought some acrylic for my DIY PSU shroud, with my custom decal painted on. Learned this from the Dietec YouTube channel, which is definitely worth a look. I also painted the GPU and plan on doing a custom backplate as well.
Primarily use this for gaming, but hoping to get into video editing. Handles everything I throw at it at 1080p 60+ FPS on high to ultra. Beamng.Drive, GTA V, Rainbow Six, The Division, Battlefield 1 to name a few, keeping the GPU around 71C. I never really notice/mind sound due to using headphones and family going about their business, but never gets loud.
