Description

Hey everyone, first-time poster and builder here. I'm thirteen, nearly fourteen. I play CSGO.

I have been a console gamer my whole life. Once my friend bought a PC, I decided I wanted to do the same. I had money saved for a while and I didn't know what to do with it, so this really was a satisfying project.

So I did some research. I discovered how much I could save by building my own machine, and I decided to do such. Only one problem though: I have never done anything like this before. So I did more research. Found out it wasn't that bad.

July-ish 2017: I noticed the NZXT S340 ELITE Hyper Beast case. Long story short, I fell in love. December 2017: I ordered my parts after doing a bit of research and asked my friend if I could have his old GPU. He still owns it I guess, the plan is to upgrade later and then give the GPU back. Christmas: I build it with my friend. Only learned about grounding myself after I ordered the parts, that could have gone bad... Guess I should've done more research lol. It went well, except this was my friend and I's first build so we only knew the basics. The PSU cables got our brains mushy. Luckily my cousin who knows a lot about PC building was in town to help me out. Turns out we did everything right except we didn't plug in three tiny cables.

Thanks McDonalds for the sexy posters. It makes my room feel homey.

You can add me on steam if you want.

My advice to first-timers: Don't be nervous. Ground yourself. Do your research. If I can do it, so can you. Also DO NOT THROW AWAY THE MOBO MANUAL. I lost the manual when I was building it and we had to use a mirror of the original website because the website was down.

Sorry, the pictures aren't that great, I don't feel like taking the tempered glass off. Sounds like I'm a bum, I know. You're not wrong.

**PS: does anyone know how to turn these ugly mobo lights off? I looked at the bios settings but found nothing.

Part Reviews

CPU

Really good for gaming and everyday tasks. Handles MS Access and Excel like a breeze.

Motherboard

It looks worse in real life. Does its job. I don't OC so I can't really say much about that. If you know how to turn off the ugly LEDs on the side PLEASE message me!

Memory

Looks beautiful and it performs well. Worth the price.

Video Card

Got this from a friend. Handles PUBG with minimum settings at 40 frames. CSGO on max with ~100 frames.

Case

It looks amazing. The only complaint was that the screws didn't seem to fit in their slots when unscrewing them and screwing them in. It actually tore off some of the paint. Not happy about that but it isn't noticeable, especially because the screws are in the back.

Power Supply

It does its job, kind of hard for cable management but that's probably just me.

Monitor

You get what you pay for. If you are a gamer, this might not be for you. The refresh rate is slow, but it's ultrawide so I couldn't say no. It works fine and I game on it so if you really want ultrawide on a budget, get this.

Mouse

I never use the two buttons on the side, but it definitely could come in handy for other people. The software is splendid.

Nice build overall.

About the case screws, I am pretty certain the s340 elite has captive thumb screws which means they are designed not too be completely taken of the panel. So basically, you shouldnt try to take them completely off. Oh well, you'll know next time.

Back in October, McDonald's had an event at certain locations due to the show Rick & Morty. The show requested McDonald's to re-release their Szechuan sauce, and they did. The company released the sauce along with their new buttermilk crispy tenders. They released around 1,000 packets of the sauce along with posters. I own two. Many fans didn't get their sauce, and they were angry. Two days ago they released twenty million packets to their locations everywhere. Here's McDonald's website for the event.

The B350 PC Mate doesn't work with mystic lights I'm pretty sure. Thanks for trying, though! I might just void the warranty if I'm really desperate.
Which I probably won't do.
