Description

Please note that actual hardware differs quite a bit from the listed parts because pcpartpicker is not updated as frequently and as extensively as [I think] it should be.

  • Actual GPU: Inno3D Gaming OC (GDDR5X) 6GB

  • Actual case: GMC Tank MicroATX Mid-Tower

  • Actual optical drive: TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-224DB

  • Actual monitor: TELEFUNKEN TF-22S2 LED TV (50 Hz, overclocked to 69 Hz; 5ms)

  • Actual mouse: Defender Shock GM-110L Black USB Gaming Mouse (3200 DPI)

=====

Built almost entirely from scratch, based on a 5 year old prebuilt 400$ PC (i5-4430, GTX 660, 8GB DDR3) Only things intact after 5 years are the PSU, the case, the 500GB Toshiba hard drive and the optical drive.

Custom list entries are your friend for obscure parts. pcpartpicker has no way to keep a part list of everything ever produced on the planet that might get used in a pc somewhere. EDIT: phooeyptooey brought this up. Never mind. Props for keeping hardware out of the landfill and reusing stuff. (The pc I'm typing on right now is just that; re-used parts.)

Your build looks really tough and rugged. I bet you could do some cool mods with that case that wouldn't cost much. Like cammo paint, or something. I love that people are rehabbing/hacking old computer parts.

I'm not really fond of military camouflage on PCs. But thank you for your advice.

Thank you! That's very nice of you. I never expected such feedback on this build.

I took note of your advice.
