I built this as a side project in order to earn some extra cash. I plan to invest it towards my next personal build. I didn't want to go crazy because I live in a small town and it's rather difficult finding somebody to buy a $2,000 PC. So, I put some thought into all of the parts and this is what it came out to be. I'm quite happy with it and until it sells, it will serve as an awesome HTPC or a dedicated server for my primary rig.
The assembly was a breeze and could not have been easier. I do wish that I chose a different budget case. It's decent but I think it's overpriced. The instructions and RGB controller that Cooler Master includes are awful and for some unknown reason, the front RGB fans were preinstalled as an exhaust and not an intake. I spent as much time turning the fans over and figuring out the RGB than I did assembling everything else. Perhaps I'll do more research next time..
Why the SU800?
I believe that we are nearing the time where the average person can afford to have only SSD storage in their computer. The SU800, I believe, is a fantastic budget SSD that is fast enough for the average gamer. HDDs are great in terms of cost but their transfer speeds and boot times are unbearable in comparison.
Why the 1660 Ti?
The 1660 Ti is, again, awesome for the price. ~$280 gets you a ton of power that can very easily run all titles at 1080p60 on high or ultra settings. I even feel confident enough that this GPU is very capable of 1440p60 gaming.
Really? Semi-modular PSU?
Lol. What can I say? I cut some costs by not going with an EVGA G3 or SeaSonic FOCUS but I know the CXM 450 is a reliable, safe unit to use. I don't mind the permanent motherboard and CPU cable in a budget PC.
Good case but I feel that it's a bit overpriced. If this were about $20 cheaper, they would have nailed it but with all the acrylic panels and the awful RGB controller, I can't give it a 4 or 5 star review. It took me more time figuring out the RGB than I spent assembling the rest of the PC. Also, who's idea was it to preinstall the front fans as an exhaust?
