After two months of planning, creating 3D renders just to visualize my loop, waiting for parts, asking people left and right for advice, overheating tubes and overbending them, filling and draining and spilling water everywhere, my first custom hardline watercooled PC is complete!

It's been quite an adventure, and in the 8 years I've built PCs I've never really spent so much time on one build. And sure, it's not a fancy quadruple radiator, 3-way SLI, gold plated fittings build but I didn't want that. I wanted something that was simple. And clean. And pretty. And this build was just that. If you have any questions, feel free to comment below or hit me up on Instagram <3

== FAQ ==

What's up with the pricing? Why was your 1080 Ti $1,300? I got this GPU from Amazon during the great GPU crisis of early 2018. I wanted to keep the prices of all the components I got exactly as it was on the receipts.

Why did you go with an X370 board when you have a 2nd gen Ryzen? This build was mostly aesthetics and I wanted a white motherboard AND I needed something that was compatible with EK's monoblocks. This motherboard was the only one.

I heard PrimoChill Vue causes issues. Why did you pick that coolant? PrimoChill Vue is a high maintenance coolant, and if the proper steps are taken you can avoid problems. It took almost a week of preparation: 24 hours of PrimoChill SysPrep and 72 hours of PrimoPrep along with plenty of flushing and cleaning to ensure the best performance. A majority of people having issues with Vue either didn't care to follow the instructions or didn't do it correctly.

What temperatures are you getting with this setup? My idle CPU temps are 24C, with my GPU around 22C. You can see a screenshot here.

Corsair LL fans aren't static pressure optimized. Why did you go with those? As I mentioned before, this build was mostly an aesthetics build I prefer the look of the LL fans. Even then, with testing I did with Thermaltake Riing (static pressure fans) I was only seeing a couple degree differences.

What camera did you use to take these pictures? I used a Sony A7S II with the 24-70mm 2.8 GM lens. This camera has mindblowing low light capabilities and you can probably see for yourself what I mean by that. The b-roll video was also shot with this camera.

Is this build final? What else are you planning on doing with it? No, I plan on revisiting this build with better sleeved cabling and possibly a distro plate installed somewhere. Check/follow my Instagram for updates, the link to it is above.

WHAT IS THAT CLOCKSPEED?!?!?

WaterTriber 6 points 1 month ago

he obviously forgot to move the decimal to the right one place.

ZedSamCat 2 points 1 month ago

No it’s an widespread problem with PCPP, there are plenty of builds with the problem

Pachimaniac 5 points 1 month ago

Yeah, i've seen it quite a bit, but I sure do wish we could have processors with clock speeds in the penta-hertz, as seen with this bug.

ZedSamCat 2 points 1 month ago

And terahertz too, the admins are working on it

daUnitedpotato 1 Build 3 points 1 month ago

Nah, guys. Come on. That's a legit clock speed. Totally realistic. :P

daUnitedpotato 1 Build 8 points 1 month ago

I bet this runs Google Chrome like a champ.

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 11 points 1 month ago

It runs Edge even better ;)

Next featured paypal me $5 once it is

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 2 points 1 month ago

Hahaha how do features work anyways? How often do they choose?

Ventilate 2 points 1 month ago

idk I was trying to figure that out myself I assume its based on upvotes

Gooberdad 10 Builds 2 points 1 month ago

A pcpartpicker.com staff member chooses the featured build. In the past it has been Manirelli.

Ventilate 2 points 1 month ago

I know staff do it I just didn't know what the criteria is for it

Gooberdad 10 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

I hear you. I've been wondering for about five years. When you find out, please tell me too.

Ventilate 1 point 1 month ago

Guess I win xd

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

It did!! Thank you

islandg@m3r 1 Build 2 points 1 month ago

Awesome build bro! Take my +1 Meanwhile I'm stuck now deciding between getting 2nd Gen Stuff now for my build or waiting for a few months for 7nm Ryzen and GPUs even though the part list I currently have took me months to put together and waiting =(

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Thank you!! It all depends on how long you're willing to wait haha. I'm impatient so I like everything now and upgrade later maybe

islandg@m3r 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

Think that is what I might do and just get the 2nd Gen one since I was waiting months for it's release don't want that time to go to waste

Nice build. I'm literally on my way out to the garage to bend tubing and couldn't decide between black or white fittings with the white coolant. Black it is now!

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Black fittings go great with white coolant!

SerialScaresMe 2 points 1 month ago

Unicorn vomit is the best vomit.

LostFYI 1 point 1 month ago

Are these the normal PSU cables with combs on it or cableMod cables?

Phildilf 3 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Typically, normal PSU cables aren't braided.

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

CableMod, PSU cables were way too stiff and the combs that came with it were too tight.

Phildilf 3 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

THANK YOU for posting quality photos.

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Blame my perfectionism haha

Katpcman 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

Really beautifully done and shown off perfectly with those quality pictures. I feel inspired for my next project!

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Thank you!

Lardybob 1 point 1 month ago

Wolf88 4 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

So what are the temps under load and at what fan rpm ?What are your OC ?

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

CPU is 55-58C and GPU is 49-52C after an hour of Ghost Recon Wildlands. No overclocks. Not sure about fan RPM but it's super silent.

Wolf88 4 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Why not OC ? I’m just trying to gauge temps and fan speed with a single 360 rad.

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Don't need it with the 2700X lol. Also, it's a 420mm rad haha.

Wolf88 4 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

I only see 3 fans though and no room for a fourth. Are these pictures playing tricks on me ? lol

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

3x 140mm fans :D

bradley1758 1 point 1 month ago

I want to build this pc, but there are a lot of potential issues. Should I ignore it?

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 2 points 1 month ago

First issue is easy, just buy a $50 A6 and use that to update the BIOS to support the 2700X. Second issue has to do with the length of the GPU. Mine was pretty long, but a majority of cards will be fine. And this ONLY becomes an issue if you mount it horizontally. If you mount it vertically it can be any length you want. Third and fourth issue is fine as long as you don't have too many drives.

mslaguy007 2 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

RoyalSovereign 1 point 1 month ago

Woff.... This is crazy !!! I can't find appropriate words to explain how "strong" impression this masterpiece left on me. One hell of a piece you made there lad, bloody well done.
I hope it will serve you well, and use it in health, as Turks say.

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Thank you so much!

NinjaCal22 1 point 1 month ago

This is an awesome bild and I wish to have the skill to build a liquid cooled one just as slick and nice as this build. At the moment, for my first build I am starting out with a budget of 700 dollars and its pretty good. But again, this was an awesome build no matter how expensive.

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 2 points 1 month ago

Thank you! And that's a good budget for a first build! Good luck :)

HiResJunky 2 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

This is a beautiful build! Clearly very well thought out and executed to perfection. I love it!

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Thank you thank you, it took a LOT of planning

SerialScaresMe 1 point 1 month ago

Now, try putting actual ice in there. I'm sure everything will be just fine.

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Haha distilled ice, maybe ;)

septapus 1 point 1 month ago

you would probably need actual ice for the 9900k ;)

TYL3RisSM4LL 1 point 1 month ago

Sick!

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Thankssss <3

beardedmisfit 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

Kudos! Great build +1

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 2 points 1 month ago

Thank you!

HasNeyn 1 point 1 month ago

Really clean build. I would've went with a horizontal mounted GPU since it's watercooled, as there isn't much aesthetics when you have a vertical mounted gpu that's watercooled. But that's just my opinion. +1

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Thanks! I vertically mounted it because of three reasons: 1. the GPU waterblock didn't come with a backplate nor is there one available (as far as I know) so if I had it mounted traditionally (horizontal) it would've exposed the ugly PCB 2. the length of the card interfered with the radiator/fans 3. I wanted the water channels to be visible as the Vue coolant flowed through them and vertically mounting was the only way that could happen without having to look at the underside of the card, if that makes sense :)

HasNeyn 1 point 1 month ago

Fair enough. It's just that you have a great looking motherboard, and I thought that the GPU was hiding the MOBO from all its glory. :)

ReVRiN 1 point 1 month ago

Sweet mother that is a piece of art. I absolutely love it!

pegotico 2 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Beautiful!!!!

xconnor 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

holy moly those bends are amazing!! that mobo and psu are snazzy too. this is an epic build that totally deserves the feature. congrats!

MrThreePik 8 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Zen+ on X370 is perfectly fine anyways, there are literally are no differences on benchmarks. I'm running a 2600X on C6H and plan to see if it can handle Zen 2 without any major differences.

skyrise 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

WOW!

Love white themed builds!

LippolisW 2 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Gorgeous build. +1

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Gooberdad 10 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Nice looking build. WTH on the CPU clock speed?

Thumbs up and congrats on the featured spot!

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Thanks!! And idk that's a PCPP bug apparently haha

Philonimus 1 point 1 month ago

Gorgeous build! Grats on the feature! Are you the most skilled girl on PCPP?

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 2 points 1 month ago

Thank you!! And nah, I'm probably the least skilled LOL

Hehehe thank you

hazyhope 2 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Lovely pics! Cool build also, as cold-looking as mine lmao

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Thanks!!!

thelegndaryspyro 1 point 1 month ago

why did you get a pro oem... also wow... water cooling is expensive.

can u make me one lol

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Haha it is expensive but hey that's what makes us enthusiasts!

diypartsjoy 1 point 1 month ago

KarapagasLT 1 point 1 month ago

Damn this makes my Corsair 570x project feel like a 2003 PC after seing yours.. all that sexy rgb, that watercooling damn

DoctorBetaNet 1 point 1 month ago

He cools his PC with cotton candy +1

Kevinh1682 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

Heads up that Primochill Vue stuff doesn't just require preperation to keep it from messing up your system -- it needs maintenance. I ran it in a gaming rig and the chemicals broke down and caused huge problems. Turns out the issue was as simple as running the pump at a higher speed than Vue can withstand.

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 2 points 1 month ago

Correct. I'm running the pump at a constant 10% speed and allowing Vue to run a bit warmer. I also made sure to turn my system off every night since Vue isn't made to be a 24/7 running coolant.

septapus 1 point 1 month ago

i was going for a white build too thanks. you gave me some great tips and advice through your build too consider while building mine. way better than i would ever be able too do. one other question though if you where spending that much on water cooling than why not go with 2 gpus. stock, price, motherboard not support sli, etc???

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 2 points 1 month ago

I bought this GPU back in April for $1,300, no way I was going to get another one at this price haha. Also, I wanted to keep the build simple.

septapus 1 point 1 month ago

okay that make sense LUL ya that would be a lot

fallennetwork 1 point 1 month ago

whats them temps when your doing stuff?

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

High 40s to low 50s while gaming :)

fallennetwork 1 point 1 month ago

for both? gpu and cpu?

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Yepp GPU is cooler most of the time

fallennetwork 1 point 1 month ago

nice

Gentleman00 2 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Nerd fact: the clockspeed represents 32-bit integer limit.

alexsykes069 1 point 1 month ago

i think we should talk about the price £297.10 thats a bloody rip off

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

What do you mean?

fallennetwork 1 point 1 month ago

what fans did you use?

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Corsair LL fans 140mm

HJTBB 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

why is that 1080ti 1300$

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 2 points 1 month ago

Crypto miners lol

r4ndom 1 point 1 month ago

my fav build on here so far!

Bishop1288 1 point 28 days ago

That's a damn nice build dude.

fallennetwork 1 point 20 days ago

i don't think your still replying to comments but iim pretty sure with that power supply it comes with a 6+2 cord split into a 2x 6+2 i don't think i would feel comfortable plugging only 1 in but i'm curious on what you did?

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 15 days ago

What do you mean? For the GPU?

fallennetwork 1 point 15 days ago

yes

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 14 days ago

It's not split, they're 2 individual cables :D

vegaspimp22 3 Builds 1 point 14 days ago

nice looking build, but its your pictures that are really out of this world. Nice job. Your a girl that likes photography and building Pc's? Marry me?

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 14 days ago

Lmao thanks

Jkooooob 1 point 7 days ago

mother of god that's strong, also how come u didn't use the Intel Core I9 9900K or at least an Intel Core I97600K?

enroh 0 points 1 month ago

Are those Evo 2 drives for RAID5? If so you made a rookie mistake.

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Nope lol

enroh 1 point 1 month ago

ok then why the three drives?

saracatlee submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Video storage lol

enroh 1 point 1 month ago

O_o? Were you looking for speed AND storage? If so, you may have been better off getting more drives of a smaller footprint to increase your IOPS. I do not understand what you are trying to achieve here.

tech_geek100 1 Build -6 points 1 month ago

-1 used ryzen +100000 for everything else. (I dont mind ryzen) sweet coolant

HasNeyn 1 point 1 month ago

Why? Ryzen processors offer great performance for an excellent price. I usually prefer them over Intel.

tech_geek100 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

im not very antiquated with ryzen yet and i subconsciously know intel cpus and what im buying. they dont offer tuned performance in what im look for

tech_geek100 1 Build -1 points 1 month ago

i think the ryzen vs intel i3 i5 i7 have about the same price to performance ratio. intel's 8th gen and upcoming 9th gen just have the newest stuff and my personal preference is intel, ryzens are fine but it just boils down to preference.
