Description

Hello PCPP community,

Here's an update on my ZSS build, I hope you enjoy the new photos.

I finally decided to put together my first custom loop. I've wanted to do a chrome loop for the past couple of years and after seeing a build from DGON-MKII (https://pcpartpicker.com/b/9skdnQ) I just couldn't resist any longer.

For more photos of the original set up/build please see below: https://pcpartpicker.com/b/M7WD4D

Here are a few other builds that also inspired me to water cool:

GoodGaming PC's GGPC - A Mirrors Edge 2 (https://pcpartpicker.com/b/3yjcCJ)

WorkofHarts' Atlas Evolv'd (https://pcpartpicker.com/b/JsZRsY)

BornEvil's Lian: My WC'ed Gaming PC (https://pcpartpicker.com/b/w3KZxr)

Performance improvements:

Temps have reduced from about 72 degrees to between 38 and 48 degrees under load with fans running at about 1000 rpm.

Current clock is stable at 2088mhz (about 100mhz higher than before) Memory can clock up to 500mhz (350 more than before) but I don't really bother clocking it past 200 since I don't see a performance difference

Thank you, took a while to get here but I'm very happy with it. Finally don't feel the urge to upgrade anymore.

Chrome is boss and not that expensive either relatively speaking. Well worth putting the extra effort in for!

I commented on your last build about your Witcher painting, happy to say I have one sitting on my own wall now. I still go back to your old post to admire it from time to time, so excited to see you put together the custom loop! And not to forget that you fit the damn thing in THIS small *** case, +1 for sure.

I remember :)

Gj picking it up it's well worth the small price tag! When I find some time take some photos and roll them all into the featured build.

Bring on cyberpunk 2077!

Awesome build man! I found your first build because it kept popping up when i was picking out my parts, (I wanted a wall mounted PC too) and we had all of the same parts lol, even down to the monitor, cooler, fans PSU etc., so glad it did, your rig looks great. You inspired me to try and get three fans on top of my build too, thanks! Quick question though, where are your SSDs? Its hard to tell in the pics because there is glare from your window on the glass of the case. Where could you possibly hide them in that little case lol

Thank you. I haven't taken the time to do a full set of new photos yet so if you check out my air cooled version of the build you can see mounting positions (photos 36 to 38).

https://pcpartpicker.com/b/M7WD4D

In this build I've put both HUE+ where the ssds use to be at the back and put 1 ssd next to the HUE+s on the free mount position (photo 38). I completely removed the drive mounting plate (photo 36 with HUE+mounted there) and front IO (below it) to make more room for water cooling since I don't use any of those ports. The other ssd is mounted behind the GPU if you look closely at photo 5 on this build you can see there's a sata cable and ssd just below the motherboard. keep in mind there are 2 mounting spots behind the GPU but only 1 can be used if u have the PCI riser cable installed.

I will do some more photos eventually but I think I'll roll everything thing into the original build when I do.

Are you putting a custom loop in?

What made you upgrade from the Kraken? just not good enough?

  • 1 point

The Kraken was great, but I wanted to water cool my GPU which meant having to replace it for radiator space.

  • 1 point

So where was the radiator installed? You mentioned something about removing the top and 37+ screws. I have the same case and just buying parts as I go.

ok first all nice build and second how long did it take you to wall mount the pc? oh also that girl figure looks familiar i just can't figure out where she is from the on in the blue armor that is

  • 1 point

That is Samus Aran, the Women who is wearing the orange suite (left figure).

I would like to know, how he turns his PC on, when it is on the wall.

I really like that wall mount, but how do you turn your PC on?

Same as usual, power button is on the right hand side so I usually just lean over.

Wanted to set up booting via mouse/keyboard but never managed to get it working. Perhaps I'll give it another go soon.

The canvas on the right above the xbox controllers...that is so cool. Any info on that? Where I could get it? Picture anywhere online digitally?

Here's a link to where I bought it:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/detail/32708104204.html?spm=2114.10010108.1000023.4.28ba426bXRJBJb

Seems the seller doesn't do this print anymore but if you google "samus wallpaper" its the first 1 that comes up.

First off, this is amazing and I’m going to be using it as inspiration for my own build. That said, can you tell me more about the picture of Samus you have on your ssd drives? I want to do something similar with a different piece of art, how did you do it? Is it custom?

Thanks!

Hey, thank you. I picked up that sticker from redbubble. It wasn't custom but it might be worth checking out anyway.

Nice. How are things so far? How is the monitor treating you?

  • 1 point

Not bad, actually just finished updating my setup/hardware. Still have the monitor but running a 49 inch TV too now.

The monitor is great but I quit any kind of competitive online games so I hardly use it to play anything anymore. I find playing single player games on a decent large 4k hdr TV more immersive personally but unless you're running a 2080 ti i wouldn't recommend it. The picture quality on a TV is just far superior. The only thing I'd still use the monitor for is racing games but tbh I haven't played one since Forza Horizon 3.

Are you thinking of getting an ultrawide?

  • 1 point

I'm not sure yet. I only play league of legends anymore. Super casual. I have two very old monitors and was thinking of getting one bigger one. I might stick with the two smaller ones for my purposes, but upgrade in size. Thank you for your reply. Nice to see the community still kicking once in a while😎

Thanks, already looking forward to my next build! Unfortunately I doubt that'll be for another few years.
