This is my fourth build, but my first posted on PCP. It ended up easily being my cleanest build, even cleaner than my main. However, it wasn't a build that was supposed to happen - I'm in the middle of flipping a blue-themed 2500k build that ran into several compatibility issues. Most of these parts were used to troubleshoot that build, and ended up coming together super well in their own right.
- Sold on Facebook Marketplace for $400 within 2 weeks. Wanted to give the buyer the pleasure of peeling off the coating off the tempered glass, so pictures are without the side panel installed.
CPU: From a friend at work. Also got an i3-2120 bundled for this deal.
CPU Cooler: From BNH. Had to get something that didn't obstruct the massive 4x sticks of RAM. Blue and cheap, does its job.
Motherboard: eBay. Was not probably the best deal, but I needed it to figure out if the other board was bad. It also had to be blue if it was going to be a replacement. Had to separately buy a cheap I/O shield for this.
RAM: eBay. Lemme tell you, the heat spreaders on this RAM have got some height. There are very few coolers that will allow these to be installed, from my experience.
SSD: Newegg Shell Shocker. Cheap and does its job.
HDD: Had it laying around.
GPU: eBay. This was intended for the original build, but it turns out AMD cards don't play well with 2nd gen Intel MSI motherboards. Note: never was able to get the Aura Sync RGB software to work with this card - I just think the board is too outdated unfortunately. At least it still breathes red.
PSU: Newegg Shell Shocker. It's a non-modular unit, but cheap, new, and blue (80+ Bronze too).
Case Fans: Facebook Marketplace. Love these and they fit the existing case fan like a glove.
Case: Newegg Shell Shocker. Good deal and looks great.
If you can't tell, I personally love blue LED.
