Description

Mostly for coding. It might be overpowered for coding, although the cores & threads make compilation really nice. And who knows what else it could be used for?

Part Reviews

CPU Cooler

Must-have

Motherboard

A vast improvement over another Z170M-ITX/dl board I have from Asrock. Similar macOS setup. EZ to use bios, NVMe on top, yadda yadda..

Storage

Works without any patches in High Sierra.

Video Card

Seems good. Not a gaming enthusiast box, for work.

Case

Could be smaller. Finish is incredible, as good as your Mac Pro aluminum boxes, but the fitment leaves more to be desired. Some of the panels don't line up perfectly and leaves bigger than desired gaps. The top plastic piece is a bit bowed, so you can see a gap on the top of the case.

I REALLY like the motherboard rear ports facing up.

Have to say this definitely was a good year for PC. Powerful and stylish build. Enjoy!

What are your temps at? I've been wanting to do a build in the case but still unsure of how temps will be.

Added a screenshot of HW Monitor (idle) to the build photos.

I recently upgraded my cooler to a Corsair H70. Under full load the temps would reach 80+ C. Now it won't ever go above 50 C

wow those are some pretty good temps with that cooler. Is that a quiet cooler?

yeah it is the quietest fan in the box.. I don't do any overclocking plus it's a bit cold in the office :P

Hello! How are you doing. Can I ask for the temps ? Have you tried OC and how much is the Temp? the Max. I wanted to go with Mini ITX 8700k, but I am worried with the temperature.

currently running at ~95 F / 34 C on the CPU, ~104 F / 40 C on the SSD, idling. I don't think I see more than 50C under load.

did you have any issues with the crucial m.2 and the asrock z370m-itx/ac mobo? not on the QVL, did everything work smoothly?

I did not have any issues with the m.2, in either Sierra or High Sierra.

Seems a bit high.. I'm idling at ~ 34 C, but my fan speeds are max'ed out. I don't think i see more than 50 C under load, but I don't game on this computer.

I finally reached the tipping point yesterday.. my CPU package was hitting 170-180 deg F. I was running a multi-threaded node script and all 12 cores were pretty much pegged... so Noctua wasn't enough to keep it cool in this case. I might be upgrading to a liquid cooled thing soon.
