Description

3rd render node for my 3D workstation (30 cores). Most of the aesthetic stuff was improvised and from scavaging around hardware stores and used car part shops.

I was in need of reduced render times and didn't want to be boring and have a box under my desk, so I did something more elaborate and had fun with it.

This is functional art, nothing less. This should be hanging in a gallery not an apartment (as tastefully decorated as it is), more people need to see how beautiful this is outside of the PC enthusiast world.

Inspiring very inspiring.

Thanks man, the drum set is electronic so it doesn't bother people that much. I wouldn't even enjoy playing if I knew I was pissing people off haha

I lived next to a drummer in my early days. I played a lot of guitar then. When ever he would start jamming I'd just plug in and start jamming along. hehe Noise complaints followed in truck loads! hehehe

anyways, seriously nice build. Good to see the creative side of individuals on this site!

  • 1 point

Amazing build. I have the same cooler master case (white colored) and I love it! However, the poly-carbonate screen has discolored somewhat during past 3 years.

Are the other two towers part of the same workstation or 3 separate machines?

  • 1 point

Three separate machines, although they all work together over the network to render out 3d images. Saves A LOT of time

  • 1 point

That's a neat set-up you have, good luck!

  • 1 point

This is the definition of an epic build! Great work on the custom transformers build!!! With the size of the room that I can see from the pictures I have to wonder what you're looking at for room temp and noise level?

Marksman, this is why I have falled in love with PCPP. Just when you think you've seen it all, this happens! Truly amazing work and very inspiring!

Now I have to ask, how big is that TV? Looks like you bought a cinema screen in your house

  • 1 point

Noice build! Definitely a +1! I like the color scheme and the whole build! The only thing I don't dig is the mobo and the pcie extension. I guess you can mod those too to make it more..? Not saying it is bad, this is amazing and mind blowing. Another thing, why do you use windows 7?

  • 1 point

Thanks! I use Windows 7 because of compatibility with the programs I use. I don't really have a need to upgrade to 10 yet

  • 1 point

As someone who grew up watching the original transformers and still even has a few VHSs (but no VCR). I have no words for just how great this build is, and how it really goes after my hearth. So i am just going to leave my +1 and leave because the jealousy might get overwhelming.

Great job

core P5 Watercool master race! I love seeing other people then myself use this case, especially the Watercooling aspect of it! And how many hours of case modding did it take to move the PSU there, and the GPU down?

  • 1 point

This took me about 2 months to build the whole thing, about 1-2 hours a day. Had a general direction in the beginning but it it was mostly improvised.

Wow! This looks awesome. Why did you use the older CPU? And widows 7? What kind of programs are you going to run on it?

  • 1 point

Hey thank! This PC was really just built with the intent of being a render node for 3d rendering. For those purposes it works great :-)

  • 1 point

That is some serious dedication to an art. Could you also do a build guide for those biceps?

  • 1 point

Thanks! yea the build guide is just go to the gym haha

  • 1 point

Thanks for sharing this gem :D This is what Love is right there, love for custom PC :) I love the Bumblebee, and also the full setup with the tripple monitor for work, and larger TV for entertainment :)

what TV is it? what's the input lag? - I have a somewhat similar setup, so I'm curious :) I love playing on the TV, but for competitive FPS gameplay I still prefer my 144hz 4ms gaming monitors.

  • 1 point

Thanks! It's actually a Benq1070 projector. I forget sometimes that it's not a TV haha. I love gaming and watching movies on it but I've never been so crazy about the technical hz and stuff. For competative gaming it may not be the best thing haha. Check out the specs online and let me know!

  • 1 point

It seem to have up to 120hz - not sure if it does so in HD, but it can do 120Hz. It also has an imput lag of avg 20 - which is acceptable for livingroom gaming (on par with Samsung TV's which are known for low input lag) yet it still is a bit behind gaming monitors which is preferred 2-4ms - but this is common, and for singleplayer, coop, casual multiplayer etc. it's perfectly fine :) My gaming monitors are also BenQ :)

  • 1 point

Hey there, thanks! I have a link to the build log that documents like every single step with pictures (in description). The grommets, I bought a roll of rubber and cut them out myself. Like everything except the hardware and pc parts was made from scratch

Computer Enthusiast Master Race, its on Facebook. Your build was posted on there a while back and everyone was trippin' haha. I love it. That tire added so much to me. Just love the creativity and envy the room as a whole. My best friend and I moved in and have been working on our game room and its looking killer but not comparing to your room haha.

  • 1 point

I personally find the build humongous. The mobo looks so small in there! However, amazing crafting and patience. Bravo ;)

The room it self is impressive. Those monitors (22'' ?) look so small compare to that ~65'' TV. Wow !!! Start a movie or a big screen game, just turn 45° and go! Lovely :)
