Description

just a wee £350 budget build i completed all in white (painted motherboard included), it was for a friends son, who wished to play minecraft, but i think he got more than what he needed with this one, it should keep him going for a while.

too much to explain here, but iv put together a time lapse build video, check it out here if you wish: https://youtu.be/S6T5Mitk_vc

Write up a longer description. Like how and why you made the mods. This could easily be a featured build. +1 sir great looking computer.

You sir have more nerve than I do, because I hardly touch my motherboards, let alone paint them! Well done.

Impressive. I didn't know anything was custom at first until I saw the GPU and especially the motherboard.

Great bargains on the parts I'd say.

On the subject of painting the motherboard, what are your thoughts on spraying some of the more sensitive components, like the chokes or the vrms? Is it going to impair their ability to dissipate heat?

Honestly i cant be 100% sure how it will effect the motherboard, but i have ran the pc straight for 2 days and the temps went up 3/4 degress max, im a spray painter by trade so i took this into consideration and put the thinnist coat of paint on as i could, as i see it the paint seals directly to the surface so in theory it shouldnt effect the temps all that much if at all (heat should disapate through the paint easy enough), only time will tell, but from anyone else i know that has done it, they havent reported any problems, i guess if your un-sure about anything just tape it off before painting

Also yah i searched over a few months to get those bargains, the cpu, mobo and ram i got as a bundle from gumtree (second hand selling site), the hhd though, i couldnt find the exact model, so i actually only got a 500gb.

All in, it probably cost me more with paints/materials etc and few other silly parts, but as a base build (parts only) thats how much i paid

Are you sure that the paint wont insilate the Power delivery system thermals? And dont other aspects still need passive cooling?

I can never be sure considering im not an electrical engineer etc, but from what iv gathered and others have gathered its harmless, i wouldnt recommend anyone else try it (your more likely to damage your mobo in the paint process rather than the paint itself), but i like pushing the boundaries and if i fail, so what ill have to replace a few pc components (hence why its on a budget build)

Flea bay and other second hand sites like gumtree/craigslist , took me around 2 months to get those bargains, some stuff i got in pairs which i bargained the price on even more, the whole build itself cost more but for the main components alone, that was the final price

Probably should have recorded the whole process, would of been like my own version off scrapyard wars haha
