I want to get this out of the way: There was nothing I could do about the cable management. My case was totally budget & subpar. I tried my best to hide as many cables as I could in the empty drive bays but they didnt reach. So this disgusting concoction was made.

It took me well over 2 years to get all the parts of this computer, sucks to be a poor person, but I finally got it done. 2 years of gaming with a low end laptop, that couldn't even exceed 30 fps on Call of Duty 4, I am prepared to experience gaming with 60 fps. Now let me explain the prices:

The CPU, MOBO, RAM, Hard Drive, and Case all came from sales, so they're like really cheap. I got the Sapphire R9 270 Dual-X for a super good deal on ebay, but it took almost a week to get here. I kind of want to tell you all the dread I had to go through....

Damn USPS wouldn't process my order until a week later, and I been arguing back and forth with the ebay seller about what's going on. But in the end, it finally worked out, and I got my graphics card.

I also got this really nice PSU from Ebay. Before I found this steal of a deal, I was pretty much stuck with a Rosewill RD-450, when AMD recommends you have a minimum of 500 watts (although I know that you can get by with a quality 400W PSU). So now I feel a little safer knowing that I have a good PSU.

UPDATE4-8-15: Got HD pics from my phone, instead of Ebola Cyberlink. now you can enjoy the disaster in HD!

Nice work man, 2 years of gathering parts is no feat to scoff at. Hope your gaming goes well, 30 fps in cod4 sounds not so great.

jb1b84 1 Build 9 points 42 months ago

Points for perseverance. I hope you enjoy it

Xilstealth 6 points 42 months ago

Try bundling some of the cables together with a zipstrap perhaps - cords that go hand-in-hand or are in pairs and tie em to the side of there's any spots. Could be worse. Just as long as the cables aren't in spots where they are touching hot spots

nigerianjones 5 points 42 months ago

Cable management isnt that bad.

xdenttim 1 Build 4 points 42 months ago

thats what i was thinking

CDot 5 points 42 months ago

Kudos on the patience it took to get your build complete!

balldrix 1 Build 5 points 42 months ago

+1 for having the patience to build over 2 years. Not everyone has the cashflow for pc parts.

GMAN-DV8 1 Build 5 points 42 months ago

Look man times are tough. Dont worry about having all of these high end parts you can still game on lower end hardware. It looks really good man enjoy!

xdenttim 1 Build 4 points 42 months ago

good build m8 +1 i know how it feels to live the poor life. and why does the title say "I could possibly get murdered for this" ?

-HH- 1 Build 7 points 42 months ago

he lives in the FaZe Klan house, if they see he has turned to the PC masterbating race they will have to asinate him, gdnite sweet prince!

AdamTheMan26 2 Builds -4 points 42 months ago

Probably cause where he lives... somebody would love to jack something like this. Just my guess. I like the build also.

shavashav 2 Builds 8 points 42 months ago

lol thats slightly racist in an innocent way. you dont know where he lives. He was talking about cable management obviously.

monkeybars 6 points 42 months ago

I imagine it's that he could get murdered for the bad cable management, and it was a joke...

xdenttim 1 Build 0 points 42 months ago

its possible but he won't get murdered maybe robbed but not murdered.

Meteorized 3 points 42 months ago

Neat build for the money?

Any benchmarks?

Sareez 3 points 42 months ago

That build... OMG... So cheap. So much... Performance...

jacobs4525 1 Build 3 points 42 months ago

Bargain hunting can be tough. When you can save a bit more, Try to grab an NZXT Source 210 so you can give those parts some room to breathe. Other than that, good build for the price. +1

wiredin321 1 Build 3 points 42 months ago

what kind of stapler did you use for your photos?

BenC99 2 Builds 3 points 42 months ago

Just keep swimming. Great job for available resources.

shavashav 2 Builds 2 points 42 months ago

not bad, psu isn't the greatest but very good price/performance +1

TheRaginGamer369 2 points 42 months ago

someone give that man a 970

pegotico 2 Builds 4 points 42 months ago

you should probably make an example...

Firebomber4 5 points 42 months ago

but then he would need to buy a new PSU... Why not have someone who had spare case to sent in to him? :)

ExtremeBananas 2 points 42 months ago

Looks like a good build, the only thing I would criticize is the RAM speed, you really need to get something like 1600mhz-1866mhz RAM to get great game performance.

ravicale 1 Build 1 point 42 months ago

Ram speed really doesn't make a large difference in performance.

Eschaton 6 Builds 2 points 42 months ago

Well... how do you like it?

tabascosauz 3 Builds 2 points 42 months ago

Damn, I sure as hell wouldn't be able to wait 2 years saving up for one build. Hats off to you, sir.

Honestly, I don't see a problem with the cable management given the quality of the case. I've seen plenty worse jobs in Corsair cases (read: absolutely inexcusable given every Corsair case's cable routing possibilities).

nickmlo 4 Builds 2 points 41 months ago

This man is a hero!

I salute you, lad.

mpsteidle 1 Build 2 points 40 months ago

Very nice! Have fun with your build!

TheAlchemistLlama 1 Build 1 point 42 months ago

Nice build! However, I'd try to save up or get a new case over the holidays if possible, with all of those spaghetti cables everywhere you might have ventilation problems. There are some sub $50 cases that allow cable management out there.

xdenttim 1 Build 1 point 42 months ago

the cooler master N200 is a good choice

thatguyiswierd 1 point 42 months ago

why didnt you get a case with power supply?

xdenttim 1 Build 2 points 42 months ago

cases that come with psu aren't the most trust worthy

thekasafist 1 Build 1 point 42 months ago

You could consider a pawn shop next time. I saw a better PC than this at a pawn shop for only $500 but it was also a custom build in great shape with the latest OS on it too. Sometimes people lose jobs or have a crisis and have to let go of the luxuries in their life. The guy had to be rid of his custom build for quick cash and it often results in the person never coming back for it. This is where you come in and take advantage of a deal. The tower had to have had about $750-$800 worth inside if not more. You never know where you can find a good deal so look around. Otherwise I am sorry you had to wait 2 years to get a decent gaming rig. I know how you feel I lived in poverty in my time I didn't have my first computer until i was 21 after I joined the military! Keep your head up kid and good luck, oh and +1 for effort! Happy gaming! :)

xshadowinxbc 2 Builds 1 point 42 months ago

Can you jot down the actual prices?

Biggles1y3 1 point 42 months ago

What are the temps? You might want to keep track of those while gaming to really make the parts last the longest they can.

shadonin 1 Build 1 point 42 months ago

I would recommend a full modular or at least semi modular psu for the win it looks pretty well balanced

onemanhitsquad 3 Builds 1 point 42 months ago

you do what you can do...and you will add and replace as you go...you know more about building than you did before so for that...good job!

hardcorelap 1 point 42 months ago

you look like Omar Benson Miller

swiftfishy 2 Builds 1 point 42 months ago

Not a bad build. Though why are the images mirrored?

thunderdan602 1 Build 1 point 42 months ago

Not a bad build over all. Good job. Great photos by the way my friend. ;-)

chuycookie123 1 point 37 months ago

Were you able to get 60fps 1080p?

Calvingreen17 submitter 1 Build 2 points 36 months ago

I only have a 720P monitor for now, but if I can get 60fps on GTA 5, I can definitely do it on 1080p. This card was made for 1080p, so me running it at 720p means its not even running at its fullest potential.

Bladder 1 Build 1 point 31 months ago

Very good build man, there is no problem with the cable management as long as they do not interfere with the fans, is not like you have a window to see the mess.

VinnyPlaysGames 1 Build 1 point 26 months ago

my heart literally stopped for a sec when i saw the cables!

Akhan1028115 1 point 18 months ago

uhh my life's fadingugh(finallydies)

nignog 0 points 42 months ago

I hope Cory doesn't get murdered in his house.

cookie_yoda_365 1 Build 0 points 37 months ago

there's no excuse for bad cable management, just look at my cheap-o build

BolideBear -1 points 42 months ago

imb reporting this

DragonForge -1 points 39 months ago

Dislike for cable management. I know you tried your best, but I'm sure you can do better. I have a tiny case, no cable management places... I had to hide literally everything in a barely finger wide hole, and I got them rather neat... sticking them in the drive bay just makes them worse... Insulating the drives.

Lol i had a good laugh out of these two. But nonetheless, Brownie points for waiting so long. I had to wait 5 years to gather all the money for a $1200 rig (bought the first parts a week ago [got does parts today : ) ]), not because I'm poor but just my parents don't spend/give me money at all. I'm seventeen and i don't even have a ******* phone!

Ham_sammies 6 points 42 months ago

get a damn job

reoper6 3 points 42 months ago

Its hard to find a job in my area for my age group... not enough options where i live... Any tips for getting a good job?

Idkidks 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

Small town or big city? Big city, find a Best Buy most likely. I heard from credible sources that they don't require any certs. Hopefully I'll get a job there this summer. Small town, find an old mechanic who will pay you minimum wage to clean his garage. These are most jobs people wouldn't apply for.

I would but I got AP classes... So GG

akmbo49 1 point 37 months ago

What the heck do AP classes have to do with getting a job

shavashav 2 Builds 4 points 42 months ago

Trust me dude, it always feels better when you work for something and earn it. You just don't appreciate things as much when they're given to you. Patience and financial independence build character.
