Description

This build is now in its third form and will continue to evolve over time, i have pour alot of time and love in to this build and couldn't be happier. Please feel free to comment.

Part Reviews

CPU

This CPU is a tank when it comes to raw performance to cost compared, it is very easy to overclock and rely runs very well. I have an OC of 4.0GHz and couldnt be happier.

CPU Cooler

Got this as an upgrade from a Noctua NH-D9L and boy can you see the difference in both db and thermals. It is overkill on my 1600X at 4Ghz but i matches my build and i love it. Installation isn't as easy as some coolers but its not as bad as people say so long as you take your time and keep a cool head. Ram Clarence is perfect even for my G.Skill Trident Z ram.

Thermal Compound

Cannot fault this product, applicator is great, easy to use, not conductive so i wont have to worry about shorting my board. Thermals are very good.

Motherboard

So I cannot say enough how nice this board is to work with, everything is laid out so well and the sockets are easy to reach. The overclocking on this board is amazing with all the extra phases. The RGB strip is both awesome and minimal at the same time and overall board design is slick and clean with a splash of gamer goodness to make anyone weak at the knees. The best part for me was to amount of fan headers as this saved getting a separate fan controller.

Memory

When I first saw this RAM, I knew this had to be included in my build and Jesus does it perform, this RAM was so easy to get up to speed and works like a dream. It is so cool with the amazing RGB strip and the tall heat spreader on the sides. I would highly recommend this ram if you are willing to pay the premium price. The RAM was extremely easy to overclock to 3000Mhz.

Storage

Honestly I bought this as a cheap part for my last PC, I didn't expect all that much performance for the cost at the time and have been nothing but impressed by this each step of the way, I cannot stress enough how good this was for the cost(£40). At half the cost of a Samsung drive this is a real bargain, not to say Samsung drives are a ripe off as they are not, it is just a premium product and can have a premium price.

Storage

Now this was another new item for me, I have never had an M.2 drive and this thing is a beast, it way outperforms anything I have used in the past and I will never go back. Boot times are stupidly quick(13 seconds) and I do not think you could as for more performance for your money.

Storage

Nothing more to say on this one, just an old drive for mass storage.

Video Card

I could not be happier with how this card performs, i got this off of Ebay for £920(Used for only 20 hours) and i am blow away at how well this runs games and what rendering software i have used. Yes its expensive but it makes up with excellent performance and i cannot see any upgrades coming in the next few years at least. The cooling performance is amazing, the build quality is fantastic, its quieter than my GTX 1080 Gigabyte Windforce OC that i swapped it out for and it overclocks well despite being a well above a reference card out of the box. While i cannot recommend this for everyone due to the price and ray tracing not being quite their yet, if you are running games at 4k or 1440p at 60hz or above this card will get it done.

Case

What a beauty, this was another instant decision when I saw this case after hours of looking at boring square cases. It was a challenge in some places to build in but I am sure this is down to my newbie level of building rather than the case. The design is relay nice and the case comes with two very nice fans as well as the front IO being very generous. The PSU shroud was a little tricky to figure out but this was not a big deal either. The RGB strip on the fruit is rely high quality and the case comes pre wired with a Corsair Fan Node built in with additional space for the maximum number of fans you can build in to the case as well. The software is great and cannot fault it.

Power Supply

I did save some money in this area, as I did not want to pay too much for a PSU at this time. Though I cannot stress enough how many people buy a rely over the top PSU looking at some builds. The cables are pre-sleeved, look great, and have a very nice quality feel and look. Its serving me very well and I cannot see a need to upgrade to something more for a while yet. Good bang for your buck.

Case Fan

I knew I wanted a full RGB build so these were a no brainier for me, they are rely nice the quality is great and run so quite when the system is not under so rely serious load and even then they are not that noisy at all.

Love the build, but the sheer rainbowness is a bit nausea inducing. Personal taste is a nice slow flicker between 2 colors :)
