Description

This is a temporary solution until my z77 motherboard arrives so I can swap my z77/2500k with the z97/g3258.

1st off, i'm a budget-fairy and most of my builds show this. This build is meant to be a showcase of what is possible to do while on a similar budget. By no means is this a top of the line gamer. Most of the parts were bought used or with some pretty sweet discounts I have found over the passed few weeks. Shopping around for the best price-performance is half the fun to me! I must say the pentium still is able to hold its ground even with only 2 cores! Mine is purring a long with a 4.4ghz OC.

As someone who has sold their RX 480 and now owns a 1060, I am MUCH happier even though I lost the FreeSync capabilities of my monitor. My Zotac Mini is boosting all the way up to 2100mhz!!! I am absolutely LOVING this card. Performance is that of a full sized card yet takes up a very small footprint!

This case has to be one of my favorites of all time. I have used the ATX and Micro ATX variations and love them both because they do give you a little challenge but that's what makes the build so much fun to me. Plus, i'm a fan of the side panels... great for modding ;)

I am very satisfied with this build and I will run it through some more tests and games before installing the z77 & 2500k. Do what you all love to do and have fun doing it! In the end, that is what is most important.

NB4 POWER SUPPLY POLICE!! I have used this psu for many builds and plan to keep on using it! It's more of a place holder, than anything. I typically will buy a $30 evga psu once i feel the build is done and i'm happy with it so i may return this Gigabyte to my test bed :)

Damn, this is one hell of a build! +1

Nice grab on the 1060, this computer will kill 1080p even with a weak CPU. I'd estimate a solid 47-55 FPS on GTAV @ @Ultra even with the G3258, very playable...

Thanks dude! So far it is destroying all my games at 1080p! including GTA 5!!

The Pentium will be bottlenecking that GPU hard. That PSU is garbage buy a G2 and ever skimp on the PSU

Wow man! 23$ for SSD, 30$ for HDD, 20$ for 16GB of RAM, how could u get them with such a low price? Overall, this is a super budget build. xD

All of those were off ebay :) all used mind you. The ram is actually kinda tricky... my 16gb consists of (1) 8gb, (2) 2gb, and (1)4gb module totaling 16gb. Yes they are all different modules but all the timings are set to the exact same as well as the speed of 1600. Memory works great :)

Wouldn't the CPU bottleneck the 1060?

That's what I was thinking..

I had no issues with the g3258 @ 4.4ghz running the 1060. The only downside was that it only had 2 cores so that is a bottleneck in itself. But, if you read the description, I have now installed a z77 + 2500k in this build and everything runs wonderfully.

Was cable management pretty tough with this case or no?

If I remember correctly there is no room to route cables between the back side panel and the motherboard tray so all the cables have to be managed inside the case. It wasn't the worst I have had to work with but you definitely have to take your time.

Hey, I'm looking at using this case for a build, and I was wondering if the case does in fact come with the fan in the picture for the case? It isn't clear on the product page, thanks!

I can't remember if it came with the exhaust fan but yes, it does come with the front 120mm blue led fan :)

Just a quick question regarding fans in the case. Is the rear fan mount 120mm or what is it?

it's a 92mm fan.

I have since gave this PC to my wife and she loves it! She does play a lot of games on steam and it handles them all very well. It will start to stutter on applications that were designed for more than 2 cores, however. I also have the i3 6100 in another pc with a gtx 1050. I would highly recommend the i3 and a slightly cheaper gpu over the pentium though.
