Description

I started this build at the beginning of 2013 and have upgraded it throughout the year. The original build used and A6-5400k and worked well, until I really wanted to play some games. When that time came, I upgraded to the quad core athlon and the 7750 which work beautifully and allow me to play most games (older games on High at 1080p and newer games on Medium/low at 720p or 1080p)

I also have a remote control, Wireless XBox 360 adapter and Wireless keyboard to complete the setup. Overall it is an amazing build!

I like the budget! I was originally aiming for 500 dollars, but that didn't work. Anyway, good build! I would probably upgrade the GPU if you want to play games like BF4 and other graphics intensive games.

The issue with upgrading the GPU is that I would need a bigger case :/ the 7750 was the best card I could get that was low profile. It actually runs BF4 and COD:Ghosts quite well at medium.

No problem, would a 750ti be too tall, the card basically has to be low profile to fit in the case. I'm probably going to keep the 7750 for a year and see what is out then.

Nice, I'll have to look into it. Thanks!

Probably spent a bit more on the cooler than you needed to, but Noctua makes some great stuff.

Overall 10/10 would build ;)

asjimene submitter 2 Builds 2 points 46 months ago

Thanks! I wanted it really quiet and I keep adjusting it even today to try to minimize the noise, so I knew Noctua was the way to go!

Does the remote control interact with the 360 controller adapter?

asjimene submitter 2 Builds 1 point 46 months ago

No, I have like 3 different adapters on this thing, 1 for the Xbox remotes, 1 for a TV type remote, and 1 for my wireless logitech keyboard.

Thanks everyone for all of the positive comments. I adore this system, and it has started my computer building obsession1

I've been looking into HTPC building recently. How do like that case?

asjimene submitter 2 Builds 1 point 46 months ago

I love the case, the main issue with it is space. Especially if you want a full height Video Card.

logan48227 2 points 44 months ago

I was debating on this case for my build as well. Do you think that it would hold a 750ti?

asjimene submitter 2 Builds 2 points 43 months ago

This is probably too late, but there is barely enough room for the 7750. It needs to be a low profile card, so I'm not sure a 750ti would fit...

logan48227 1 point 43 months ago

I appreciate you taking the time to reply, but I ended up going with the Cooler Master Elite 130. Thanks anyway!

asjimene submitter 2 Builds 2 points 43 months ago

No problem. Hope your build turned out well!

muchpcbuilt 2 points 37 months ago

Does the case comes with fan filters for the 4 80mm fans?

Great Budget build, 11/10

yumri 2 points 24 months ago

wow a super cheap functional computer for a HTPC just thought why only 1TB if for storage you will need more space if for the OS alone that is to much. Understanding that it might be the cheapest thing now too

asjimene submitter 2 Builds 1 point 24 months ago

Thanks, I've recently upgraded the case and thrown in an R7 370. The 1TB drive is only about half full right now with a decent movie library. I'll probably upgrade to a 4TB drive if I ever get close to filling this one.

Mobyrik 1 Build 1 point 39 months ago

What OS did you use for this build?

asjimene submitter 2 Builds 1 point 39 months ago

Windows 8.1. I installed classic she'll and I am really enjoying it so far. I have an Xubuntu virtual machine for coding as well which runs very well.

DavisTheWalrus 1 Build 1 point 36 months ago

bOOsted 3 Builds 3 points 47 months ago

Is there a low profile 7770?

MrWhiteMacaroon 1 Build 1 point 46 months ago

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-video-card-gtx670dcmoc2gd5 How about a low profile 670, which is still a great card to run games at high to max settings.

JPCRacing24 2 Builds 1 point 46 months ago

Has anyone heard when that is supposed to come out?
