Pros: Looks very nice and the new revision included a heat pipe between the north bridge and the VRMs. Good heat dissipation temps in HWmonitor for the mobo around high 30's ~ low 40's under load (with good airflow 2 corsairs SP 120 on the front) Supports Overclocking and has been very stable with it The UEFI supports profiles

Cons: Needs more Fan Headers!!!!! really!! are you kidding me! I ended up using even the power fan connector, but had to use a low speed resistor adapter to minimize the noise since it runs at 100% all the time Cpu core voltages were moving all over the place even when set static I know this also has to do with AMD architecture requirements but come on. The UEFI is not that easy to use, its decent enough The EasyTune software has very limited options for this mobo (I've seen pic of the software on other mobos) and looks like its from the 90's. The documentation is bad and the illustrations worst.

Other Thoughts: Not the best overclocker but gets the job done. Cpu Load line calibration can be quite useful just be careful with the setting you select. I recommend normal (which is what I'm using with my oc) or less unless you are water cooled.

To me the biggest down side is the lack of fan headers the rest is not big deal.

Its holding my 8350 at 4.4Ghz with air CM hyper 212 evo.

Overclocks well, make sure you get REV 4.0 or above

I underestimated this Motherboard. Definitely worth a 5 Star.

Pro: Everything on the board is marked. This was VERY helpful when it can time to connect everything for the first time.

Con: I ran out of fan connections. However this is not a problem with the board.

from completed build Gaming Machine 2015

Love the layout and features of the board. I do wish the CPU power connectors where placed closer to the right edge for better wire management. Other than that Its a great board and I recommend it to anyone who is wanting to do an AMD build.

It's big, needs a good sized mid tower or bigger.

A 990FX board with BEEFY heatsinks is a literal MUST for overclocking 8300 series CPUs. This board allowed me to push my 8320 to 4.5ghz on water. I added a fan to the NB/mosfet heat sink and I got an extra 200mhz up to 4.7ghz.

Be sure that the NB/mosfet heat sink gets direct airflow for best performance.

Its got a graphical BIOS, so if you don't know what that is look it up and be sure you're all right with it. 5star rating because I've had ZERO issues with this board... Its very nice and looks great too.

Best budget 990fx motherboard there is bar none

from completed build AMP'd ----My First Gamer

User friendly and easy to install.

A good motherboard with a very nice bios. Only downside is that it doesn't have very many fan headers.
