Wireless Network Adapter
This is basically an expensive browser build, movie downloading and some "gaming". It started out as a under 1K build but that never happened, one thing led to another and boom here we are $1400 and change. Ok some will ask why I chose these components?
CPU: I could of chose an i3, Intel doesn't make unlocked i3's. now an i7 would have been a waste of $'s so I went with the i5-4670K.
CPU Cooler: Corsair!
Motherboard: Original choice was a Gigabyte UD3H, but then I wanted a red theme so it was between the UD4H and the ASUS Hero. I chose the Gigabyte, but barely.
Memory: Corsair!, Red!, 16GB's future proofed.
Storage: SSD: Corsair! HDD: Samsung 250GB Spinpoint was recycled from my old Dell XPS 210. Putting the HDD in the extenal bay, I got that idea from a build I saw on PC Part Picker. The location for the SSD was just an idea, if it got to hot I can move it to the bottom of the case below the front fans.
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 760, Gigabyte board Gigabyte card. Why a 760 you ask? Because my son bought a 760.
Sound Card: ASUS Xonar DGX it also was recycled from the Dell. The reason you can't see it in the photos is because my son stole it (ah, is borrowing it). The card reader with it's ugly USB cable was also recycled.
Wireless Card: Intel 6205 WiFi card, doesn't show in the pics. Because I'm waiting for Amazon to ship.
Case: Corsair! Was originally going with the 400R, but Newegg had a great price on the 500R. The quality on this case could be better. I wanted to use a push/pull config on the H100i, but there wasn't enough height above the motherboard. If I would have known this was going to happen I would have gone with a 650D.
Case Fans: Corsair!
PSU: Went with the SeaSonic SS-650KM, I wanted fully modular and the Corsair AX750 was more.
Cable sleeving the fans and the fan controller wasn't that hard as it was time consuming. I have to give a lot of the building credit to my son user: Bones, had a few snags with the bios and some configuring problems.
Nov. 12, added a pic. with the new Corsair AF120 Red LED fans.
